BD-R Support PLEASE!!!

When are we gonna get an update to support BD-R playback. I am a videographer and editor and supply many clients with blu-ray discs as a final product. Of course, many clients have complained about how they can't view, for a recent example, their wedding
I just did for them on their Xbox. How can an "all in 1 media console" not support user's home videos. This desperately needs to be fixed. I myself have many home videos on the blu-ray format. So I have to resort to watching on my PS3. I have clients
who's only blu-ray is their Xbox. It's not right that they should have to go purchase yet another blu-ray machine to watch their own memories when they have a perfectly capable machine right in front of them... if it would just be updated. And from looking
through the forums, it appears this was promised several updates ago and has yet to be provided. A very frustrated Xbox user.

Sadly, the feature is still not supported despite the Xbox Feedback post having a lot of supporters for the feature.

The Xbox One Blu-ray drive was supposed to support burned (BD-R) Blu-ray discs. It was marked as completed at one time on Xbox Feedback. However, it still doesn't. It can't be a complete media device unless it works with BD-R discs.

 

This may not be as easy a software fix, it could be a limitation of the laser being used singed burned media doesn't actually have lands and pits. A fix I would recromend would be to put compress the video into a simple container like divx or mkv and put
it on a thumb drive. A 16gb is around $10 or 64gb for around $20.

 

Problem with that is they don't get the really nice menus and options to go to certain sections of the disc, etc., which is part of what they're paying for. You can only play and skip. And blu-rays are $ .50 as opposed to $10-$20.

 

any update to this? Need BD-R support to play home burned BD-R discs so I don't have to have a separate blu-ray player attached. Is this actually planned for any future update?

 

I don't think we'll see such an update unless a ridiculous amount of people request it and that is unlikely. I'm on board though. Would love to have that ability.
