BC titles won't resume from standby/instant on & losing internet connection immediately...

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you inquiring about your Backwards Compatible games not resuming upon restarting your console.

BC titles are treated very similar to apps, in that sense that you need to be connected to Xbox Live in order for you to use them. Certain apps behave in this manner, and unless you have your console configured as your Home Xbox, you would be unable to use
them.

If you lose connection to Xbox Live, the system is unable to validate that you own the title, so it forces the title to close. As far as picking up where you left off on your game after you shut down your console, BC titles automatically close as the Xbox
360 emulator is dependent on an internet connection to be used, and while your console is off, it does not prioritize and internet connection unless you are downloading something [game, app, update etc.]. This is as per design.

Thanks, but I already have. Generic troubleshooting steps via the support contact forms also doesn't help. Figure this is down to the firmware/OS. Unless someone else is having the same issues and knows a potential solution?

My Xbox is my home console and it works fine playing bc games without an internet connection (assuming it's been allowed to verify ownership previously. ) So what you're saying can't be entirely true. I.E. The emulator doesn't require an internet connection
at all times. This is what baffles me; If you can clearly run bc games while offline why in the world would it auto exit games if you start them while being online and then for any reason goes offline? That's extremely poor design and it needs to be fixed.
Love the bc support you're providing outside of this issue, but this is an obvious flaw. Really hope you'll look into this and improve upon it.

If you in the middle of the game, and you lose connection to Xbox Live, this is considered a change in login so as a precaution to make sure the title does not get corrupted or damaged, it closes.

Changes to the BC program are currently on hold but its possible that this could change in the future.
