    BBC iPlayer crashing when trying to play a video.


    So I thought I'd take advantage of being home alone for a while to make use of the Xbox One. "Too late for some gaming" I said "but I know what, I'll watch some Top Gear on the iPlayer."

    Except I can't.

    Trying to start an episode crashes the app, closing it completely. I can tell its closed completely because pressing the enter button and looking at the resulting menu shows no
    Quit option.

    Perhaps Microsoft just don't like Jeremy Clarkson I thought, so I tried other shows. Each of them get the same result of crashing the app.

    I've hard reset the app. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Hard reset after reinstalling. Each time the app just crashes when trying to watch something.

    Any other solution I can try or is it just going to be easier to use the 360 version of the iPlayer?

    Still no luck here; also no apps are working for me they all take an age to start then fail; for example when watching a video on BBC iPlayer.

    "Xbox Go To BBC iPlayer"....NO NOT MEDIA PLAYER!

    OMG the One is annoying me here.

    Tonight I kept trying to launch the BBC iPlayer app by voice command and the One would just keep launching the Media Player app instead.

    Calibrated three times and the One just kept opening the Media Player app every time I said "Xbox Go to BBC iPlayer."

    Thank God for the ability to pin apps and a media remote. Voice commands in this case tested my patience.

    Been having the same problem.Are you in the preview program as I was thinking that may have something to do with it.

    Only started after I got the new update but that may just be a coincidence.

    I'm having the same problem. I've tried to watch many different shows but each time it plays about a second of the end credits and then quits to the dash and restarts.

    And yes, Daft Badger, I am in the preview program, and yes, it only started doing this after the new dash update. So I guess we may have a bug.

    The console is in the preview program and has the latest update. Time to file some feedback with Microsoft about this.

    Thanks for confirming its nothing I've done.

    There's several people reporting the same thing in the preview support forums & it looks like they are aware of it.

    I have the same exactly the same problem. I'm guessing it's pretty wide spread if it's affecting everyone in the preview program!
