Battlefront 2 Updated driver fps drop

Hello. Apologies if this isn’t the correct place to ask but I wasn’t sure where to say this.

On my laptop, the main game that I play is Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017). I’m able to play the game at 4K with 60fps with medium to high graphics settings. However, recently, I updated my NVIDIA RTX 3060 driver so I could play Spider-Man Remastered. After this I went back to Battlefront 2 and my graphics setting haven’t changed but the game is only running at 20 to 30fps. The only way to run at 60fps is for me to change all graphic settings in game to low which I found confusing and disappointing. I don’t know if this is because of my updated driver or not because my other games haven’t had an fps drop.

Hi,

It's possible that since you updated your graphics driver, Battlefront 2 may have reverted to the integrated GPU. Firstly, make sure it's using your dedicated graphics processor.

You can also force this via the NVIDIA control panel.

It's not always necessary to download the latest GPU driver when a new game is released. These drivers optimise the game sure, but generally speaking, unless your drivers are extremely outdated, it's not mandatory.

I have the same issue the controller doesnt respond and vibrates, i have a razer blade 17 pro and all drivers updated, running the game at 100+ fps with no performance drop. so same issue youre facing and no solution.

Yeah...I would have to agree with that as well! Battlefronts 1 & 2 were by far the best as far FPS went.

If you like FPS i would recommend - Battlefront 2, 3rd person action - The Force Unleashed 2, RPG - The knights of the old Republic 2.

So sorry to hear about that. I know from experience having low FPS is never fun. First thing to do is check is your video/graphic drivers make sure those are all up to date. Also check your video quality settings in game to see if you are using to much Video ram or if the settings of your video is to high, And if so you can always drop down in video quality to get better FPS . I do hope this helps any further questions just ask.

the drivers are updated in the device manager. I installed the system from a random person because I could not get a new version on the developer version, so I installed it manually but it did not help. Saying that I have to reinstall the system is it about windows 10 or windows 11? Even at the lowest settings when rendering, the game is unplayable. I wonder if I should not manually look for drivers for the graphics card because in 2 years only one driver update was released.
