Battlefield: Hardline Single Player Review

I completed the game today and I going to review it.

Pros:

+ Graphics are quite nice

+ Game has a some re-playability. (Attempt to do mission with only arresting everyone.. not getting caught).

+ Has a huge fun factor IMHO.

+ Pretty cool Netflix like "Next Episode Will Start in..."

+ I found it quite neat when you started up the game it would say "Previously on Hardline" or when you quit out it would say "Next Time on Hardline"

Cons:

- Stupid team AI: Your "team" in the game will stand there more often then not shooting only randomly or saying "Get out of there Nick" while you are being shot at.

- Your tracker/PDA thingy will beep and shake telling you there is something near by when there really isn't I ran into this more then once.

- Enemy AI can be dumb at times.. but can be somewhat over baring at other times.

- Gun damage/accuracy is all over the place. At times you can shoot an enemy with a shot gun and kill them with one shot, other times it takes up to 3 shots. Same distance.

- Very short Single Player (Only 10 Episodes)

- Glitches... mostly visual (body through table... stuff like that). None Game-breaking

All and all this was a very fun game. I wish the the game was longer and I wish it had a better team (partner) AI at times.

A few big games dropping today

I'll be playing Battlefield Hardline ( single player ) and Final Fantasy on Friday.

 

I was looking forward to it but didn't enjoy the beta and your review certainty hasn't swayed me to go and purchase it ! A lot more negative comments than positive and even the positive comments don't seem overly positive !!

 

The game is fun. You should get it. I forgot to say that the voice acting in the cut scenes where amazing as well as the graphics in the cut scenes. And there is a good chuck of cut scenes.

To spite the negatives you should still get it. Plus there is a crap load in MP.. I haven't even touched on that yet.. checking it out tomorrow.

 

It will take a dramatic price drop before I think about picking it up !

 

£40 for 10 hours of play isnt good value in this day and age, ask anyone who has bought the order!

 

Of course everyone want's 50+ hour campaigns with brilliant stories.

No-one likes the idea of paying £40+ for a game that's over in 10 hours but I have said it before, I'd rather a 10 hour game that was a brilliant experience, a lot of fun to play than a game that's 20+ hours and as boring as anything.

Worst cast scenario, you get a 10 hour game that's boring as well lol

 

It could be the best game in the world but if i know it will only last 10 hours i will wait for the inevitable price drop.

I was hyped for the order but after hearing about the short campaign and lack of replayability i will not spend more than £20 on it.

Back on topic, I actually think the Hardlien campaign will be excellent, I fully enjoyed the first mission via ea access. I liked the proper cops and robbers feel.

 

Someday there will be a game with useful AI. But it is not this day lol. I'm hoping to pick this up next week.

Not always. The brilliant story would be nice but the hours not so much. Some games are great at 8-10 hours. $60 might seem bad but I know way to many people personally that complain yet pay $20 or so for a movie that is 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours.
3 of those is $60 or so and they get less entertainment time. And depending on the person maybe less replay unless they want to watch them more than once. Some games do have some fun things to pull in for a replay at times.

Of course I remember working for $50 for NES titles when I was young. $50 then makes $60 now seem way cheap.

 

The real reason to buy this game is that Battlefield Multiplayer is finally FIXED.

 

Erm... he listed 5 positives and 6 negatives. I don't know where you got "a lot more" from? heh

 

Regarding the multiplayer, it IS fixed, but still suffers from some tropes of previous BF games, such as bad spawns, occasional lag (not as severe as previous games), and, as 1 friend admitted to me, classes being reset (I have not confirmed this myself,
so take it with a grain of salt). Other than that though, it's a lot of fun.

 

OK there's only 1 more I was tired when I posted it just looked a lot more as more effort went into the negatives !
