Battlefield 4 lag

Battlefield 4 is rubber banding due to lag on xbox one live. My connection is 50 mbps and it reports an open nat so is this the xbox server's fault? This has been going on for two months. Is lag common now on BF4?

I can't play any games at all. CoD Ghosts lags constantly like every 15 seconds, and I can't play Battlefield 4 either because it lags so bad. But before Christmas I could play Battlefield 4 with absolutely no lag. I hope Microsoft fixes this soon...

 

Battlefield 4 Lag

One thing that might reduce your guys' lag is that you go to options >Then go to gameplay> then go to network smoothing factor and turn that down to zero. I still have lag but not as much.

 

What servers are you playing on? Remember BF4 uses dedicated servers and if your playing on say European servers and in the US you will have lag.

 

Mines doing the same....i am playing west coast servers as I am in Texas and last night it was 2 steps forward 9 steps back. Only been happening a week now. I have a 36.67mb and went from wireless to wired...only thing that changed was now their is no pack
loss....still have a message Nat type open following service is experiencing issues Social and Gaming

 

I have the same problem and you need at least 10mb/s to have a lag free game but i have 20mb/s and i am getting really bad lag in EVERY GAME. the lag is so intense that i am no longer able to join pro league games and i have refrained from playing one of
my favourite games for 2 months. its funny because after having my brother and dad play on my xbox one on a account separate from mine they reported no lag and after watching them and playing on the account i found that there was no lag either. battlefield
4 also comes with a server tester n advanced options and thou i was clocking 15-20mb/s the ping in game was reaching insane levels such as 90+ the ping on my internet to an australian server in general is at least at the most 30 ping so this is not right.
australian server are in fact the closest server to me since i live in new zealand. please fix this problem microsoft

 

I think this is not the fault of xbox live. The game doesn't run on MS cloud Servers like Titanfall do. They run sometimes their own servers. Like I understood not all Battlefield games run on Servers so you lag.

EA wants you to rent Servers.

It's a shame that the game companies don't use MS cloud Servers. If you played Titanfall you see there are almost no lag Problems ! Game companies should be forced to use those Servers.

A first Person shooter an p2p is last gen and I will NEVER buy a Multiplayer game again who doesn't run on Servers.

Servers have so many advantages: There is NO NAT Problem - you can't lag switch - cheating is much harder.

There is NO excuse for game companies to NOT use Servers. They want your money but don't care if you have good game experience or not.

This time it is NOT MS fault. It's EA's fault !

 

Hi can someone help me please ,, i play BF4 multiplayer now and again and for the past 2 months I'm getting serious lag and rubber banding which I've never had for the past year or 2.

I run an internet speed test and my download speed is 25 Mbps , up load speed is 1.15 Mbps , latency is 14 ms and jitter ms what ever that means,, I'm not tech savvy when it comes to this kinda thing as I'm only a part time gamer.

Also I've noticed that playing on Australian servers is way worse that USA servers and I'm living in australia. is this an internet problem or is it the servers?? can i tweak a few things on my x box to help?? Ive just purchased Battlefield hardline and

Just some general info for everyone commenting on this

The best thing you can do for Battlefield is search in the server browser, this will allow you to see the connection of the server and the ping of the server. If the connection has 4 bars and the ping is low you'll have a lagfree game.

It doesn't harm to also reset your home network from time to time.

Unplug your modem, router for 30 seconds and Powercycle your Xbox One.

Also make sure you check your NAT on your Xbox One, Moderate and Strict can cause lag and/or connectivity issues

I'm having mager issues whenever I try to play on my Xbox one to. Now I'll be honest I have no idea how to check mb or anything like that because in Nebraska no one gives a *** about technology so I don't know anything about tech expect for ping. The lag
only seems to affect this game and it's making it almost unplayable sometimes. I really wish you could see the ping of servers because I've been in a server with 5 bars and it be practically unplayable. If anyone knows a way to at least reduce the lag on bf4
