Battlefield 4 Audio Issue: No Gunshot / Footsteps / Explosions

Just applied the Battlefield 4 Jan 30th update and it seems to have broken the audio in multiplayer. Basically I have found that for the first round (TDM in my case) I have to play with no gunshots, footsteps, explosions, etc. The only sound I get is the
end of round music played everytime I get killed I don't understand how this kind of issue is not picked up by both DICE and Microsoft test QA teams. Clearly there is too much pressure to rush botched updates. A day or two more testing would probably pick
this sort of thing up. I still haven't been able to play the campaign yet, as it continuously resets back to the start, but that's another story.

...they should probably fix the glitch that sometimes occur when you randomly can't hear your own footsteps and the whole game is silent except for explosions and gunshots.

Sound balance in Ghosts?

I play mostly at night, when my wife is asleep... If I try to keep the game volume just low enough so I can hear call outs and footsteps the explosions rattle the pictures on the wall... if I turn it down so the explosions don't threaten to break a window
I hear virtually no other game audio... is there a setting somewhere to balance this out, so all game audio is on par? Using 5.1 surround set up...

Had the identical issue last night and while I cannot be sure this works it did bring up full audio. Whilst in the deploy screen in multiplayer tram death-match (audio as you described; ie pants) I went into settings and turned KINNECT VOICE OFF, I then
went into audio and reset the defaults. When I then deployed back into the game full audio effects were back up and running. Not retested this today yet but it being an audio problem it could easily be down to lazy programming in the Kinnect or microphone
feeds. Can't yet confirm this works all the time but it got me back in game

There will be no crosshairs to promote aiming down the sights (although firing from the hip is still an option at the cost of accuracy).

There will also be no radar. Only a map that shows your position as well as that of your allies. It will include a compass to determine direction, a grid (similar to Call of Duty Black Ops), & show the name of the current area of the map where you are located;
it will only be accessible at the press of a button. Sounds of footsteps, gunshots, or explosions as well as using a spot feature (that only lasts for 10 seconds) will be key to knowing about enemy locations. You & your allies footsteps will not make noise,
that way you know if you hear it that it belongs to an enemy.

Its happens all the time on mine. Just the spawn blips and game chat. No gunfire no explosions no footsteps no nothing.

i've noticed that the sound cuts out after a few rounds too. all i can hear when that happens is my own gunshots and very close footsteps. it does kind of ruin the experience but then fingers crossed all of that will be ironed out by final release...
