Battlefield 2042 hard crashing series X

Hi, having an issue recently when playing bf 2042 it freezes and completely shuts the console down, it mainly occurs when playing on 128 player modes. I have contacted EA several times and they have walked me through troubleshooting etc but nothing more. None of it has worked and contacting them has been tiresome. I’m aware there was a similar issue last year but it was fixed with a patch. Has anybody had anything similar recently or got any advice at all. Thankyou

I’m having the same issue and have tried everything, including the DNS change and removing of my profile. I really want to play the game with my friends who also have a Series X but mines is the only one crashing.

Hi Josef, Thankyou for reaching out.

This is only happening with bf 2042. I play in the series X console. I don’t think it’s a case of overheating or anything as my console is clean and has never overheated before. In terms of troubleshooting, I have re installed game, soft reset my console. Messed around with a bunch of setting like MAC address, cleared the save files etc. still nothing is working.

Which Xbox console do you have buddy?

Same thing happening to me and has been happening for months. It’s a lot worse with the latest patch.

I tired all the steps, even factory reset my Xbox to see if it helped, but to no avail. I raised it with EA support on twitter and they said they had raised it as an issue as I sent them a video to show what was happening. Also raised a ticket on EA forums but never got a reply.

I’ve managed to play one full game in the last 3 days. Happens for me on 64 and 128 servers. Happens loading into the game, 5 minutes in, during high action areas, running across areas alone. There is no obvious reason it’s happening.

I don’t get any messages to say the Xbox overheated, no other errors to explain what happening. Either the game closes or the Xbox freezes and turns off. Usually the game starts to stutter a few seconds before the game crashes.

Xbox one version on series X NEVER crashes. Only the series X version. It’s the game, not the console.
