Battlefield 1 insider codes have been sent out

Insider codes have been sent out giving you a day early access to the Beta. Personally I'm totally disappointed, something just hasn't clicked at all, it seems very very clunky to play, the map and sandstorms etc are awful to try and learn in. Think I'm
going to cancel my preorder

Codes aren't being sent out for Battlefield 1 Open Beta. Once it begins, you should be able to download it and play If you are a Battlefield Insider and signed up before the cutoff date you should receive a code from EA via e-mail, unfortunately we don't
have codes to provide here for that.

I also got my code, but it's still downloading.

People treat a beta like a demo, when it's there for developers to listen to the community and adjust the game according to the feedback and to hopefully smooth out the online play.

 

Yeah I understand it's a beta mate, but it's the core mechanics I'm not impressed with which aren't really going to change, as I said the map is a very poor choice for a beta. If I'm honest I think it feels a lot more clunky than it probably is because I've
been playing Overwatch a lot which is super smooth and mobile for characters.

 

its not as good as i hoped either, and im a huge battlefield fan. I still believe this is a better game at its core than titanfall though so as i need a shooter fix the door is wide open for someone to swoop in and win my business. Overwatch failed miserably,
titanfall 2 beta wasnt great, doom was good for a short while but i need something i will play for longer. I never thought i'd say it post MW2 but CoD could actually have my attention seeing as it has the MW remaster.

 

^^ blimey!! I'm super disappointed as Battlefield are usually my fave shooters, but it just felt wrong. Out of interest mate what makes you say Overwatch failed?

 

I know I when I spoke to Codger earlier he said it was ok but not something he thinks he would play for the long term. To be fair though he's like me, takes something special to keep me interested in a MP shooter

I just had a go with my son ( he loves it ) but like you Mark something just hasn't clicked and you know how much I use to play the Battlefield games. Granted it's a beta/demo but I can't see much changing for the full game. I'll give it another go tomorrow
but hugely disappointed so far especially as I was so pleased when I heard it had gone back to WW1. Hopefully it'll have a decent campaign!

I'm with iBakez on Overwatch. Remember my mate saying "you got to play this" so off I went and within an hour I thought it's one of the most overrated games I've played on XB1. Again, just one opinion, if we all liked the same thing

But back to Battlefield, I just hope and prey it's just me, bit tired, too hot and tomorrow I'll think differently but somehow I doubt it :-/

 

I'm more of a single player gamer these days, so for me to play a online multi-player it has to be pretty special. I've played a couple of games of Battlefield 1 and first impressions is I quite like it. Graphics looked a bit blurry to me and was a bit laggy,
but overall I enjoyed it.

but as it is only a beta and not the finished game, I won't judge it too much. Will probably be buying it if I have the money at the time.

 

I understand most buy Battlefield for the MP but I hope the developers haven't forgot there's still loads of us that do like a SP campaign and give us something half decent.

 

@marknally... Overwatch for me is a poor mans team fortress. the classes are unbalanced and the complete lack of teamwork from people online makes the game a complete failure imo. None of the 'heroes' felt particularly fun to play either (again just my opinion)

I love a good online shooter but so far we haven't had any great ones that have any staying power.

I can see it now, mw remaster, a game from 5 years ago, is going to be the best shooter released this year lol.. says it all really!

 

For me this beta will determine if I will play mp in the full version.

 

@iBakez fair play, I never really played TF so haven't got it to compare to, but I've been having a bunch of fun on Overwatch, but as Lofty says each to their own.

I loved COD4 back in the day. My favourite COD along with COD2 but if that's going to be the best shooter this year, well like you sort of said, we are in a sad state regarding shooters :-/

I'm just glad I can do without a shooter but for those ( know a few myself ) that get most of their fun from online then I actually feel sort of sorry for them

I only do that when the game is close to launch. Like within 2 months. Reason being, they need to get the game ready to "go gold" and get those discs ready. That means the physical and digital games are the same. Of course they can and do patch. But
this patching is why some issues never get fixed. And plenty of games over the last few years launch with issues that are almost game breaking or are game breaking. And they take a month or more to get patched.

I am not going to go into anything I have experienced here but if those are not fixed the player base will shrink quick. Could be fixed but I am going to take a wait and see on this one.
