Battery level critical

I have been having an issue where my controller will constantly disconnect for maybe 15-20 seconds then reconnect. I figured it was probably a battery issue so I started just plugging it in instead, but am still having the same issue. I noticed that when
pulling up the controller update screen it shows the battery level as critical no matter if it is plugged in or has brand new batteries in it. Things I have already tried...

1. I am currently using an Elite controller, however, I have tried using other controllers as well. The same issue has occurred each time.

2. I have already done a hard reset on the console. Still didn’t fix the issue.

3. I have also tried brand new controllers and brand new wiring. Same issue.

Any help is appreciated.

I as well have had the same problem. At the time i was using a different rechargeable battery pack manufacture. Would do it all the time. Recently got the xbox rechargeable pack. No problems since.

It is a series 1 Elite controller, however i have same issue no matter what type of controller is connected. And i am not an insider 😕

Well Ni Mi can cause similar issues appeared before so it's might be worth while seeing if that's the cause of it. Different type of batteries shouldn't be used with the controllers due to weird things.

I have tried brand new batteries, rechargable batteries, battery packs and numerous charge cables. Still the same issue.
