Battery

When the battery is low on the Xbox One for the controllers sometimes the notification doesn't pop up. Why not add in a controller firmware update a signal like there was on the 360? It would make AFK shut downs less common. I have been in a match and my
controller died with no notification to charge it. A signal in the controller would be nice.

Beats me. There hasn't been any new plans or announcements concerning built-in batteries in the controllers.

If you don't like buying new batteries, consider rechargeable options, like the Play and Charge Kit, actual rechargeable AA batteries (Duracell, Energizer, etc), or other third-party rechargeable packs.

Remove the battery from the controller, while the battery is out hold on the power button of the controller for 1 minute while the battery is out and then plug the battery back in and turn on the controller, let me know if it worked

That would depend on the batteries. If they are standard AA batteries, recharagable or not, then they cannot be charged in the controller. Rechargable AA batteries need to be charged with an AA battery charger. The only battery that can be charged in the controller is the Xbox play and charge battery.

There could be a problem with the rechargeable battery pack or the controller's battery compartment. Kindly try the following and see if it helps:

1. Check that the battery pack is properly inserted: If the battery pack is not properly inserted, the controller will not turn on. Check that the battery pack is securely connected to the controller and that the contacts are clean and debris-free.

2. Inspect the controller's battery compartment: Inspect the controller's battery compartment to ensure that there are no damaged or corroded contacts. If you notice any damage, you may need to replace the controller or contact the manufacturer for repairs.

3. Check the charge level of the battery pack: Before attempting to use the battery pack with the new controller, ensure that it is fully charged. If the battery pack is not fully charged, it may not be able to turn on the controller.

4. If the preceding steps do not work, try using a different rechargeable battery pack with the new controller to see if it works. If it does, the original battery pack may be defective and must be replaced.

I'd try swapping in new batteries to check if it's the controller or the batteries. If that doesn't work, you may need to clean the contacts on the controller or battery.

Hi there,

The controllers come with a standard controller battery cover (same as the other Xbox controllers). You can use either a rechargeable battery pack, or regular AA batteries. No different from other Xbox One controllers.
