Batlefield bad company 2 not free

Upon switching on my 360 this morning i noticed it said Battlefield bad company 2 was this months first free offering on the games with gold. I thought yes please went to down load it and it keeps asking for £14.99. I know this is England where i live and
buisness is big on the old rip of its citizens to make a profit. But i think free still means free in every sence of the word. So whats going on microsoft comunity helpers. Its probably a glitch of some kind but then ive not got a lot of trust in microsoft.
What gives.... cos at the momentits not microsoft. Yea a little sarcy but im old and we get that way.

Bad Company has nothing to do with the Original Batlefield series.

The VIP pack can be downloaded in Ireland but the game which says it is Free reports "This content is not available for consoles in your region."

 

Also can anyone play online??? I been trying all day and i can't get online

 

did you get the vip pass download?

if you are using a uk account zathrus it wont work you need to have an account region actually match your actual region

if it matches your actual region then you need to reset your ip

by hardreseting your modem and router however some isps in Ireland uses a uk address unless you actually are using a uk account in which you need to match it to your actual location

so let me get this right...the game is free to download...yet if you want to play online (which I assume 99.99999% of us want to do)....WE HAVE TO PAY? what a *** swiz

Only the website requires a payment option however the VIP pass is free to download I know because I got it last night

 

I am in the US and this game is not showing up as Free for me (yes, I have Gold)
