Basic XBox Questions from a Newbie

Hi,

I just bought an XBOX One S and have a couple of questions.

1) Is there a way to power up the console using the wireless remote?

2) Most games give you hints/suggestions at the start and sometimes they flash too fast. Is there a way to "go back" or see a list of hints/suggestions?

3) I don't understand the whole concept of saving. For instance I bought the original Red Dead Redemption and I am curious about letting my girlfriend start/save her own game. I have no idea how to launch a new game without overwriting mine.

4) Another saving question. It seems that there are "chapters/levels" in the initial part of Red Dead Redemption (where it shows a movie and then you need to do a task). Is there a way to jump through or go back to a specific point/chapter? Is there a
way to save midway through a "chapter/level" without having to do the entire level again?

Hey there Gary,

Thanks so much for the replies. In reference to the controller, every game has different settings and game functions. I recommend to visit the settings page in any of your games and look for the controller option. Once you select this, you may now look at
all the cool features available for the game of your choice.

Hey Gary!

First off, welcome to the Xbox family! Secondly, if you are talking about the original Red Dead Redemption (for the Xbox 360) you can save by resting on any of your safe houses/rented rooms or by setting up a camp (remember camps can only be setup away from
towns). You can press the "start" button and you should be given an option to load, this allows you to go into previous saves, or an entirely different playthrough. I suggest you check out this

Most games do have game demos you can install from the Microsoft Store. Other games may release closed beta's by pre-ordering the game but those betas usually become open for all after some time. Here is the game demo list currently available on the Microsoft

Thanks for the responses... I figured out most of it...

I am so digging the XBox for an old timer. I am blown away at the virtual world. Being able to walk around in 3D is the coolest thing I've seen in a while......

However, I am still confused with the controller. There are so many unlabelled knobs/controls.... I can make my character "jump" in Red Dead Redemption I,(never used this.)...and still have no idea how to duck..... and those bastards are waiting for me
on the ridge!!!!
