Bans on xbox live

I am not sure where to put this post but i was directed to the uservoice.com web site which i dont see where to do anything other than simply vote on items already being discussed, not anywhere on where to post your own thoughts about a new topic. So i will
put it here and see if anything happens.

I was playing a game and got into an argument with another person via MESSAGES!!!!! this guy and i go back and forth a couple of times, nothing crazy just **** talking. Well come to find out i wake up to play a friend on another game and i couldnt chat with
him. i had an error code saying that my network settings could be restricting me from talking with certain people. this is not unusual, as most users who play with their friends and party with them experience this all the time and it is very frustrating to
deal with. Usually my entire party of 4 people spend 15-20 minutes resetting our xboxes, routers, modems, changing games then reloading the original game, and also doing a few hard resets until finally the party works. So i spend a good 90 minutes between
the two of us trying to party up various ways because we were trying to play the superbowl in our madden franchise. At one point i had another error code saying i was disconnected and couldnt connect with party chat. i ran several of the tests in the settings
area where all tests passed with flying colors, he did the same. Eventually i clicked on my messages to see if i could send him a message and found a message from xbox saying something about inappropriate conduct and to go to a web site for more info. i went
there and there was a code of ethics or something but i wasnt really sure if this had anything to do with my networks problems. i spent a total of 2 hours on the phone with xbox live but about 30 minutes into it i find that i was BANNED!!!!! WHAT? eventually
figured out that i was banned from messaging and party chat, and also activity feed i believe. so i guess the guy who i was arguing with decided to report some of my messages. WOW!!!!

so now 2 hours of my sunday wasted on trying to figure out what was wrong with my xbox , but not only that my wife was apparently streaming a tv show upstairs as i was repeatedly resetting all of my network connections to trouble shoot the problem and my
friend was doing all the same things in Maryland. So he wasted over 2 hours as well and put off his gym time so we could play since it was the superbowl. Everyone's sunday was wasted. I was very unhappy to say the least, i could go on for hours on my point
of view but i will sum up the problem and a solution which all seem very very easy.

Problem: Don't ban people from partying with their friends if there is a problem with the messaging srangers. Also not knowing you are banned when everyone gets the same error messages for OTHER problems that have nothing to do with bans. (i understand i
recieved a message but why would i even bother looking at my messages when im having network issues.).

Suggested solution: If you want to punish someone for sending messages back and forth with another user then either A take the messaging option off of xbox or ban them from sending and receiving messages for x amount of time. Do NOT TRY TO PLAY GOD OR DADDY
and add other punishments especially when they affect other people whom are innocent and trying to enjoy their day. If you want to do that then put a face on yourself and be willing to be contacted and have the issue further discussed. Next, if you issue a
ban on someone or a punishment then how about a screen upon system startup notifying the user that they have been banned. Just because there may have been some bad messages doesnt change the fact that we are still paying customers. When you have to click on
two entirely different things to use the message service compared to the partying service then all of the hard coding work is done to make bans specific to one or the other. DONT PLAY GOD.

End statement: i hope you make your system better but i will never buy another xbox system nor let me kids do the same. This will not be hard considering playstation is much better already and all of my friends have agreed we are changing to playstation
upon the next gen console release if not sooner. I am a business owner and if someone has a problem with the way i did something i have an open door policy. I have a name and a face and am willing to meet with my customers WHO PAY FOR MY SERVICES. Here at
XBOX you can not talk to the people who issue bans, there is no address, no email, no name, no nothing. Just a room full of people who take it upon themselves to issue punishments upon other people and not have to ever EVER talk to anyone whom they punish.
What kind of leadership is that?

xbox live support can be pretty useful.. but they will not discuss bans. You need to find a way to get intact with xbox live enforcement team. But if you got console banned, that means you have done something before. And you would see where they would think you are the hacker or "cheater".
