Banned until a specific date, on the date, the ban is extended?

I was banned for something incredibly ridiculous, I feel it's become overly soft and you can't say anything. However, the bottom line is I shouldn't have said anything. I was told my ban would end 23rd September 2017, so I waited patiently. When it came
to the 23rd September (today), I checked my enforcement history and the date has magically disappeared. Also, funnily enough, I'm still banned. So, I decided to contact Xbox Support and I found out I'm supposedly banned until mid-December. How lovely, being
excited about getting unbanned only to find that I now have to wait until December. As you can imagine I'm absolutely raging.

It's not really a "ban". They were apparently unprepared for street date breaking so the consoles get a "banned console" message instead of something more specific like "This console cannot be used on Xbox Live until November 22nd."

Can you please tell me what my sons account was banned for specifically and the date that the offense occurred.

There appears to be an issue that has been happening lately. It appears that if an enforcement action was extended then there may be no additional notification and the enforcement site does not reflect this extension. The only way to currently find out if
an enforcement action was extended is to contact Xbox support.
