Banned Games after R18+ Introduction

Hey all you Australian people *crickets chirping*

I came across this article today and thought it was pretty interesting, South Park SoT was the only banned game this year:

Now I know some of you must remember what it was like before the R18+ classification was introduced and even though south park was heavily censored, I still waned to reflect back and think how grateful I am that we got this classification.

The only games 'refused' classification the previous year were Saints Row IV and State of Decay. So what about you guys? Are you happy with things now or do you still wish we could have played the probing scene in South Park?

Hey smileskybird, how's gaming in Australia now since the introduction of R18+ rating in video games since 2013?

I'm thinking about moving to Australia one day (to start my movie or gaming career), seriously.

 

R18+ finally passed

and the first R18+ game in Australia is Ninja Gaiden for the WiiU -

It isn't banned, it was censored and not for legal reasons either but for marketing.

 

The original game was banned mate.... They censored it so it could actually get a classification in Australia.

You completely missed the point of this thread though, why even bother responding with such pointless reply?

 

I don't think anything that qualifies as 18+ should be Sensored or banned. Defeats the purpose.

 

^Totally agree and this thread seems far more relevant with the latest San Andreas not coming and the GwG.

I wish there was more consistency with digital content on the Xbox One, but I guess I just need to check my facts before getting excited.

 

It was Refused Classification, and was given R18+ after changes were made. it was never banned.

 

It is actually so hard to grasp that I'm talking about the original copy of the game, which yes is banned.

Oh, you still think it isn't? Well go down to the store and see if you can pick up an original copy with uncensored scenes and prove me wrong.

 

state of decay was banned? it was online release.

 

^Digital games still need to be classified and I guess if you want to keep the naysayers happy, the original was 'refused classification' (ie banned) and they had to edit out 'drug use' or 'drugs used as a reward' as I believe it had actual drug names in
the game that you used to restore your health and stamina.
