Banned for someone else's crimes

I was looking for someone to play with and i came across this person selling the account and he said I'll give you the email and tben you give me a code for a 25£ xbox gift card and I'll give you the password once received the code but i said no then he
sent both the email and password for the account and demanded payment or he would call Microsoft so i checked the account to see if it was fake and it was now I'm banned for his own crimes which is account fishing.

You Can Go Ahead And Contact Xbox Support In Regards To The Account That's Banned But I Cant Promise If Your Account Will Be Unbanned As Some Bans Stand But Anyways , They Should Be Able To Do Something To Help You Out.

However, as the owner of the account you are ultimately responsible for how the account is used, both good and bad. When we issue a suspension, it’s not necessarily because you committed a violation, but because the account was used to commit a violation.
Even if you weren’t home or holding the controller when the activity occurred, if a particular Gamertag was used to harass other players or cheated in a game we have to hold it accountable.

If you wish to restrict usage of your account you can set up a passkey on Xbox 360 or Xbox
One. And thanks to the benefits of Home Gold, it’s easier than ever for every member of the household to create their own Xbox Live account!

You didnt get banned for someone purposely throwing a match.

You got banned for your actions that violated the code of conduct that got reported.

You will never get banned for someone elses actions only your own actions.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

But, if the console has been modified, then you can be BANNED from Xbox Live due to someone else's actions.

Return that console and request a new one.

There's nothing else you can do.You get one appeal & if that was denied then that's it.

Permanent bans are usually issued due to someone having several enforcement actions in the past or the offence was so severe that a perm ban was issued,
