Okay so i got banned last night for a week for getting the free games with gold as soon as they came out and they considered it "marketplace theft". I Really did nothing wrong here all i did was download a "Free" game which xbox thought it was a game i had
to pay for, and it even said before i got it, it clearly said "GET" and not pay for. You guys are banning me for downloading a free game, i feel like this should be reverted. Thank you for reading this my gamertag is .

It doesn't matter if you had nothing there when the suspension was issued, it all depends what was there when someone filed a complaint about your Gamertag. So you're going to Sony because you couldn't be bothered to the read the Code of Conduct when you
joined. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Some examples of marketplace theft.

1. Say you borrowed a friends credit/debit card to renew your xbox live subscription because you were a little short this month you forget to change the card back to your card next month and it renews and charges your friends card. Your friend then calls
up his bank and says to his bank that this is a fraudulent charge and that he did not authorize this charge. His bank then will get ahold of MS and tell them this is not a valid charge and need to give them the money back to the bank. MS then will do what
is called a chargeback (give the money back to the bank) and will then suspend your account for marketplace theft. Or say that you had your own card on there and forgot to turn off the auto renew for a month and call xbox and they tell you that you can not
get a refund so you go to your bank and tell them that it was a fraudulent charge the same thing will happen it just doesnt have to be your friends card.

2. You pre ordered a game (when a game is pre-ordered and a credit card is used it does not actually charge that card till approximately 10 days prior to the game actually being released) well come the 10 day point and it charges the card you think it was
charged back when you preordered the game and dont realize that the charge was for that game so you call your bank and dispute the charge well same thing is going to happen as in number one.

3. Purchasing a Prepaid code from a disreputable online retailor.

These are just some examples of what could cause an account to be suspended for marketplace theft not all of them.

Be glad that it was only temporary normally Marketplace theft runs a permanent ban.

Forgot to add to my post that the enforcement team does not use these public forums and if your account is eligible you can sign in at enforcement.xbox.com and file for a case review and appeal your suspension this will get the enforcement team to reinvestigate
your case and determine if they can lift the suspension sooner.

There is something to this story that you aren't telling us OP, and I would be willing to bet it has to do with the payment method on file as instances of Microsoft tagging people for this are few and far between. You will want to reach out to customer
support directly for further assistance as none of us here can help with this unfortunately.

....thats the problem about microsoft, they allow the machines to do the work, they don't go and check it, only on certain times, and with Grand theft auto 5, everyone curses, even the damn npcs XD

Every enforcement report is reviewed by a real human being, and the only automation done is the queue that sorts the reports for the enforcement team members.

In Grand Theft Auto 5, NPCs curse in the game world about stuff that happens to them in the game world. It is not targeted against another player in the real world.

As soon as you, the player curse and harass another player, that is a violation of the Code of Conduct. No matter how adult or mature the game is, and no matter how much the NPCs curse.

so even what the code of conduct says crap, you can't change a game's rule of doing what the hell fucking ever, you can't go and tell them hey, your game has a lot of nasty stuff, you can't just tell them to change it, only on Kid friendly games yeah,
but if its a damn game RATED M, NOT FOR CHILDREN, but for mature teens to adults then yeah, microsoft won't have that problem, but the children that aren't post to play it are the problem, they are they #1 source of people getting banned for saying certain
things....

same thing, i was suspended for 7 days because of damn communications, and around that time i was playing Grand Theft Auto 5, some kid kept asking me to shut the hell up, stop cursing, he kept crying so damn much, and he wasn't even fucking playing XD, he
just sat there in his damn car, costing our match, that little bugger told me he would tell all his friends to report me, then he leaves the game, almost costing us the game, which we did lose....thats the problem about microsoft, they allow the machines to
