    Anyone else been banned for saying a curse word in a message? I didn't even direct it toward a person just used it to describe something. I.E. "That hurt like a *******er".

    The last time I received a communications ban was Jan 17th 2018 for one week, the last time before that was May 26th 2016 for one day and that is my entire history of issues. So I am in effect being punished for a time in 2016 when I used profanity in
    a message? This system seems very flawed.

    Profanity is a violation of the code of conduct anywhere on Live not just under specific circumstances.

    Suspension length can vary depending on the severity of the situation as well as any previous suspensions.

    @op as bowski said it may not be from the same day it takes weeks not days to issue a ban

    Also should be noted multiples violations like cursing via multiple.msgs to the same person does count as harassment

    And multiple violations not nessarily all.at once can lead to a perm ban of the account I suggest your friend start familiarizing himself with common sense and the code of conduct
