Banned Console

Hi, My name is [Mod Removed] and my gamertag is () and my children "gamertag' (GlacialCart4624) recently picked up a secondhand Xbox one for 200 dollars of a craigslist posting. Because it is a relatively new console, I thought
it was a great deal. I actually took it over to the Game stop on Barracks road in Charlottesville, VA to test it out because I was excited and didn't want to get my hopes up. The guy behind the counter said the biggest thing to look out for was to see if the
disk drive worked correctly and we downloaded an update for madden. It worked great! Or at least I thought. I took it home later that day and plugged it in and downloaded a bunch of games. The system had been factory reset by the guy I bought it from. He was
a kind of young guy that seemed to have very good intentions, we even shared a hand shake after the purchase. Anyway, I took it home and put a bunch of games on it. I tried playing the new DC superhero game with my boys after waiting for the download. When
I went to play on it, it said "Choose something else to do because of your past behavior you cannot play multiplayer games online". I then called xbox support and they couldn't figure it out. They thought it was the game itself. I then tried ARK and another
game I bought COD advanced warefare. I then got the same message every time that I went to play online multiplayer. I thought that this was crazy considering the fact that I had my xbox live account for years and me and my children's accounts were nothing
but good. So I started tweeting xbox support to see if they knew anything else and they could not figure it out. They said to look at the enforcement page and see what my reputation was and it was sparkling as usual. After registering it, which still had no
red flags for some reason, I then started chatting with support again under the support number
[Mod Removed] and the guy that I was chatting with didn't really give me many details and had me try using my gamertag live account on my 360 that I was using just a couple days ago. It told me that I couldn't get on because
of multiplayer settings! The guy I talked to simply said he would have to call me within 24 hours to find out what was going on and that we were going to have this fixed. Meanwhile, I was still tweeting with the support team and they told me to call the support
number to see if I had a banned console. I found this odd because it looked as though only the xbox 360 game consoles could be banned when I looked at the enforcement page serial lookup. The dropdown doesn't even have xbox one. So I called your support team
twice, waited fifteen minutes twice and for whatever reason, both calls were dead silent each time. Then I started a chat session again and right away I asked if they could lookup my console. She said right away that it looks as though my gamertag had been
playing on a banned console. My heart dropped right away because I had no idea that this was even possible. I let the lady know that was in you support team know that this guy probably took my 200 dollars and bought a new one and is probably playing online
at home right now because of this! I let her know that I still have the email with him giving me his name (if it's real) and phone number (if it's his) and all the details surrounding us meeting up and buying the console. I was originally going to just buy
a 3 terabyte hard drive because I didn't have enough money saved up for a new xbox one with a terabyte and that could at least give me an edge for getting a xbox one with 500GB. Here is the last email we sent to each other. It appears that his name is
[Mod Removed] and his phone number is [Mod Removed] which he called me at. Unfortunately, his email was masked in the craigslist email hide setting.

I only have three main questions that I need answered. BTW, the console is currently registered under
[Mod Removed].

1.What originally was the reason for the ban on this system? Very Important! I don't know if he downloaded any illegal things!!

3. Can I please have the ban suspended if at all possible? If you look at my accounts, you will see that I am worthy of an A as far as reputation.

4. It seemed to effect my gamertag "" on xbox 360 as well, which I found out after a the second support guy made me test it out on the 360 to diagnose what was wrong. Will that be fixed?

What happens to your games if you get banned on an XB One

that is the same as it is now, if you manage to break the rules so badly its a lifetime account ban you loose everything jn that account.

for a modified console its the console that is banned, I think you have to involved in active game code hacking or account phishing or other be involved in nasty completely ruin live for others areas to get a perm ban for your actual gamer account, hey are never clear on why accounts are banned tho

It's not a permenant ban but those that have received a retail console early and connected it to the net have had it banned.

No one here would have any information about why the console is banned. There's no way to have a console ban suspended or undone.

Also, you should not post any personal information, whether it's yours or someone else's, on a public forum.

 

Thats why its better to buy from an authroized retailer. microsoft has lots of these in australia and new zealand even. you may pay a lot more from an authorized retailer but what you pay for is a new console with full warranty and functioning 100% well
not banned faulty etc. but if you pay cheap, expect cheap.

 

idk but it sounds like a Rep issue as opposed to the console itself being banned.

 

OP that why you never get secondhand console. Even like thee faces of GAMESTOP. You are more better buy a fresh one from like GAMESPOT. Because you will have safety net for one year when it broke down. And it will guarantee connect to XBL. I see this
way. I will not buy secondhand console those days. Even with online gaming those days. And console can be banned from XBL. So I hope this helps.

 

New is ideal but not everyone is in a position to buy brand new. But if you do go for the SH route its best to buy from a retailer....

 

$200 for a second hand Xbox One just doesn't sound like a deal to me. I guess I'm kwazy.

 

But second hand console are highly chance's are banned from XBL.

 

But I hope in light that a kid was hurt evolved this low seem. That one the higher ups would give a console to that kid. But that going to far in thinking. They just say what I said. And not care about how kid feel.

 

I would never buy a used console from Craigslist since you have no protection at all. I've bought several off eBay in the past without ever having an issue, but at least if there were problems I know I could file a claim to get my money back, or even file
a chargeback with my credit card company if it came down to that.
