Banned Console

Help! I brought an xbox 360 off an New Zealand website (which is where I'm from), called www.trademe.co.nz . To my surprise it was banned (ahhhhhh!) Enforcement Team member, please help. Paid $200 for it (normally going for $400), paid for a dud. I also
emailed the sale person about the banned console, all he said was "didn't know, I was saling for his grandson". Rather than send hate mail to the sale person, I came here lol please help, thank you Enforcement Team members

What happens to your games if you get banned on an XB One

that is the same as it is now, if you manage to break the rules so badly its a lifetime account ban you loose everything jn that account.

for a modified console its the console that is banned, I think you have to involved in active game code hacking or account phishing or other be involved in nasty completely ruin live for others areas to get a perm ban for your actual gamer account, hey are never clear on why accounts are banned tho

It's not a permenant ban but those that have received a retail console early and connected it to the net have had it banned.

A banned console will never be unbanned.

You need to deal with the person that sold it to you and get your money back.

banned console forum that Enforcement reads, but MS is not going to unban the console.

 

It pays to ALWAYS buy from a retailer listed by Microsoft/Xbox as an AUTHORIZED RETAILER. Yeah I've seen lots of modded consoles 2nd hand is cheaper than buying the full RRP but believe me.... buying from an authorized retailer is worth the trouble than
buying 2nd hand because you don't know if the seller is telling the truth especially about the history of the console. I reported some listings to Microsoft Xbox Support and they thanked me but gave me a link to some thread on xbox.com forums. .

To be short, ONLY buy from an authorized retailer listed by Xbox. These include Harvey, EB, JB, Noel Leeming they're authorized retailers for NZ. I know what I'm talking about cuz I live in NZ too. It's not illegal to sell modded consoles (it should). This
is especially true if you value your profile only get a console from an authorized retailer. Don't get it 2nd hand or from a non-authorized retailer listed by M/Xbox. Otherwise you run the risk. Some people have brought 2nd hand consoles and have had no probs.
But I would never take that risk. Same for the Kinect sensor. If I wanted one, I would only buy it from an authorized retailer brand new factory sealed by Microsoft than a questionable source.

 

If you cannot get your money back from the seller then contact the website (most will have rules against selling fraudulent products) or your credit card company or paypal to dispute the charge (either one should have money back guarantees against fraudulent
products as well).

 

Hopefully one day people will come to realize that buying used consoles are a huuuuuge gamble. Not worth it.

 

There was an ambassador about a week ago that said this sort of thing didnt happen. I doubt he will pop his head into this thread

 

ok, thanks everybody. I never knew about banned console till now. I WILL spread the word about buying second hand consoles, it is, a HUGE risk! I will inform www.trademe.co.nz about this! I walked right into this one, never again.. PLAYHARD!
