    Avid Xbox gamer since the OG Xbox. Subscriber to GamePass Ultimate since its inception. Never in all my years have i been treated like this as a customer. On 4/24/2025 i tried to play some COD. Upon loading my Game up i was prompted to sign into my Activision account. Which i haven't had to do in years, i tried to and couldn't, said wrong email and password, ok maybe i just typed it in wrong, tried again same result. tried on my Xbox, same result, Tried logging into my Activision account on web browser, no dice again. gave up for a few hours as i had adulting things to do, and low and behold i get an email stating i was permanently banned. Say WHAT!!??!!!?? At this point i tried to get a support case going by logging into my account thru my linked Xbox account, OK some progress.... wrong. I was met with nothing more than cookie cutter responses. and basically told Oh well deal with it. Keep in mind I hadn't played in almost a month when this happened. Now i can no longer access the account even thru the Xbox or Steam linked accounts. And i cant make a temp account thru the Hacked Account Recovery tool, i get to the part where it tells me to link an account and i click Xbox or Steam and im redirected to an error page. I can get into contact with no one at Activision to appeal my case, nor will anyone on the Microsoft side help me, despite Activision being an Xbox game studio. I cant unlink my Xbox or steam accounts from my Activision account. Over 20 years of loyalty to Xbox and Microsoft, an untold amount of money spent on games, hardware, DLCs, and entertainment in that time. Thousands of dollars spent on Call of Duty, COD points, operators, skins, games etc. And to have no recourse or even the ability to fight this is mind blowing.

    Hello Da, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

    I'm afraid that Xbox is unable to help with game specific suspension or bans. Right now the best I can suggest would be to get in touch with Activision Support for more help https://support.activision.com/

    Same issue, after a long chat with Microsoft support they told me to contact activision, then after a long chat with activision they told me to talk to Microsoft. Very very frustrating :(

    Chance of getting a refund when hacked then banned

    as it all stemmed from the activision account and it was activision that banned it then nothing microsoft can do, when playing the game you connect to activision servers.

    this has to be brought up with activision, as it is a game specific ban you can use the game on another account fine, but as you say your activision account was hijacked then it needs reporting to activision and it is for them to resolve it.

    So after a lot of contacts with higher ups in Activision and Blizzard finally the first replies came from Activision and Blizzard on my COD:MW ban for no reason.

    Activision says we have no Ban on my game account and contact Blizzard for application unban.

    This is Jay from Activision Support. I understand that you can't play the game because there is a ban in your Battlenet application but no ban in Activision. Let me check this for you.

    After checking your account using the information you provided, you don't have any active enforcement on Activision.
    For this one, you need to communicate with Blizzard support as to why there is a ban on your Battlenet account.

    If you still have another console such as PS or Xbox, you can try to log in to it.

    If you have other concerns aside from this, please let us know.

    For CoD bans you will need to contact Activision Support here: https://support.activision.com/ban-appeal

    Sadly we cannot review or remove CoD Account bans here at Blizzard Support.

    I know Activision have said it's a "Blizzard" ban but it's not, the ban is on the CoD Account here itself and is not the result of a payment or any other issue on our side, it's been placed by Activision/Developer.
