BANG!!

Hi all, I was watching live TV through my xbox one on Friday 7th Oct and all of a sudden there was this loud bang and my TV went blank. I thought bugger my TV has blown up. I then looked at the xbox and saw that there was no light on. So unplugged it then
after a few seconds plugged the power brick back in the wall, the light on the brick came on and I though OK that's fine but as soon as I placed it into the xbox the power light on the brick went off and I was unable to power on the xbox. I decided to try
the trouble shooting as directed on the xbox support site with no answer as to what was wrong.

I phoned xbox Ireland up they said it's probably a capacitor blown in the xbox they will get it fixed free as it's u dear warranty. So before I sent it of for up to 21 days I took it to CEX a shop that sells xbox TVs games etc and said I wanted to sell it.
I know they do loads of checks on items brought in. They didn't tell me they wipe the hdd but I wasn't too bothered if they could find out if it was the xb or the brick. The saidy brick had died and that they would still buy it but for 20 quid less I said
no thanks and took it back home called xbox support again and said it's just the power supply. They said OK we will verify you then we can send you a new one. After 20 minutes of trying to spell out my email address the guy said sorry my computer system won't
let me send a request for a verification code call back tomorrow. I said have you canceled the repair order he said yes. So called back today Sunday and asked them to order a new power brick. They was able to send the code verification this time no problem
but they guy said sorry sir we cannot order you a new power supply because you still have the work order to have the xbox repaired.



I said no that was canceled on Saturday. He says no it wasn't but I've canceled it now but my system won't let me order a new power supply until 24 hours have passed. He said can you call back tomorrow I said not really so he said I will email you
a link where you can order your free power pack yourself. I said great send me that which he did. I then spent 30 minutes trying to get my new power pack but every option I went through wanted to charge me £25/£35 even though at the top it stated my warranty
was valid until February 2017! Why am I not able to order a free o e it kept asking me for payment I formation. I put my hardly used card details into it as I knew that account didn't have any cash in as I didn't want to be charged but every time I clicked
ok/proceed it said payment failed.

I just want my bloody power block how hard can it be? My other concern is its a limited edition xbox one the forza 6 and the power pack is also different from the standard ones but was told I would only get a standard one? Surly this can't be right it should
he a like for like right? What do I have to do to get this mess sorted? Sorry it's so long with dedicated but that's how my experience has been with xbox support.

Hey there buddy. Unfortunately, regarding getting a standard replacement, that's true, due to the nature of "Limited Editions" being limited, unless you're very lucky and they happen to have one in the service centre, then you get a standard replacement.

As for the website wanting to charge you for the replacement, that is a fault of the website. Because you are in the EU, there is a 1 year replace or repair warranty on everything included in the box with the console. The problem seems to be that in the
US, it's only 90 days for all of the accessories and it seems to reflect that worldwide.

I know you seem to have had not much luck with support but I'm afraid you need to contact them to get this sorted. they are the only ones that can waiver the cost of the replacement.

Just a note on "like for like". Pretty much everyone, be it insurance companies, or manufacturers will specify in the terms that "like for like" will be on the hardware only, aesthetics and price will not come into it.
