what is the difference between bandwith usage an bandwith usage data exposed on xbox one consoles without authorization from internet service provider..

now i understand that you must have an internet connect to connect to xboxlive to play online, but is this necessary to have your data exposed on the console of your ISP ADDY /DNS server. This here is very off putting an unrelated to microsoft as they dont
own the service of the internet nor do they pay the bill of internet so why are you displaying it on your device..

As microsoft only owns the xboxlive n provides all updates NOT PEOPLES INTERNET THAT THEY HAVE TO PAY TO LIVE DAY TO DAY!!!!!!

i hope that people do realize on your console it states (reading information from console only) now that i dont believe as how can your console have updates every 2mins of the day, as its reading every device in your home if your wireless if wired will only
read 1 device which is your xbox.

0MBps bandwith usage

Hello!

When i first bought my xbox one s it worked normaly with updates and downloading games. After couple of software updates it got stuck at 0%, i even checked my bandwith usage and it was 0 sometime hopping som certain amount of KB. So i tried portforwarding
which got me to 85% at this time my nat type is strict. After couple of months i login in my ISP and activate my ISP account which i never did in the first place and my nat type went from strict to open. During this time i tried factory reset and got me to
98%. My bandwith usage is 0MBps.

Error codes (but they work)

0x80072EE2, 0x00000000, 0x9FFF0004

portforwarding i put in

• Port 88 (UDP)
• Port 3074 (UDP och TCP)
• Port 53 (UDP och TCP)
• Port 80 (TCP)
• Port 500 (UDP)
• Port 3544 (UDP)
• Port 4500 (UDP)

things you maybe should know

100MBps (downloadspeed)

using ipv4(orderd ipv6 but dont know how to bake it in my xbox)

router netgear WNDR4300

Xbox one S 500gb version

had this for about one year still no function

using private adress (my ISP switched from public to private)

Huge bandwidth usage

I did some more testing and the bandwith usage goes up as soon as i sign in my xbox live account, if i stayed sign out, but the xbox on and pluged to my router there is no traffic, which is obviously normal.

Next hour, i'll sign in my account and play Halo:Reach in the solo campaign and i'll check what will be my bandwith usage after.

how can you be completely clueless.. let me explain more down to earth.. If your xbox is connect to the internet who owns the IP ADDY/DNS SERVER an your data that is displayed on your console under bandwith usage??????? is it microsoft????

 

Not sure what you mean but the DNS Server is owned by your Internet Provider, it translates the address you type into the address bar into a numeric address of the server you wish to access.

The IP Address is own by yourself / internet router.

The bandwidth usage that is displayed on your Xbox One displays how much usage your Xbox One is using through your internet router / internet provider.

 

so throughout the duration of my post.. what is the meaning of bandwith usage data displaying on xbox one console without permission of your service provider that MS have no obligation over it.

see for yourself if you go to (Settings) (Network)(Bandwith usage) this displays all your usage of data throughout the months an duration of time period that ive explained above.

 

Yes, it displays every hour of the day etc. I still don't understand with "without permission" part.

 

your internet service provider only has the right to your data of your IP/DNS data not microsoft..

 

If you are using a Xbox One, you are accepting that the console (Once connected to the internet) is allowed to use your internet. So yes, Microsoft is allowed to use data on your internet router if you connected it.

 

That is using my internet not exposing my data from my service provider..as its invaded my privacy

All data from all devices in my home.. which the console states that it is only reading info from console not other device when left on.. when router switched off console not active...bt ur nt gettng my point!!!!
