Ban For License Transfer?

My cousin came over today and wanted to play his games on my xbox,so he downloaded his account and thought he had to license transfer to play his games. Now my Xbox is his accounts home Xbox. I read that people can get banned for doing this so i deleted
his account and his games. He needs to set his xbox as his accounts home xbox now but i hear people get banned for doing it to much. Idk should i be worried? Should we be expecting a ban?

Can you license transfer games?

No, a License belongs to the person that purchased the Item. Just to note, any attempt to circumvent the License or License Transfer System would spell certain Perma-Ban for Marketplace Theft.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it were something you were done a lot and with several different people, then it might be an issue. Using the Home console setting to share games has kind of been grey area as far as that is concerned. Microsoft does
say that it can be used to share content with friends and family, but if you exploit it, it probably could lead to a ban for marketplace theft.

You may want to let your cousin know that he can only change his Home console setting 3 times in one year though.

Your cousin doesn't need to set your console as Home either. As long as his account is signed in to your console while you play the games he owns.

The idea is so you can share games with family, so you should be fine, seeing as how he is your cousin after all.

A license transfer won't get you banned. The system is set up for license transfers. If they were transferring licenses between profiles that could get you banned.

License transfers are only meant to be used to transfer your licenses in the event you get a new console. It's not meant to be used as a way to get free stuff. So yes, using the license transfer like you are, it can be seen as marketplace theft and could

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but license transfers should only be used to transfer your licenses between consoles that you are using. License transfers are not to be used as a way of sharing games. That is considered marketplace theft and can
result in you being banned.

As long as you are not using the license transfer tool as a way to share content, you should be fine. When people abuse the license transfer it is viewed as maketplace theft/fraud and leads to bans.
