Just in the middle of an part of a game, when all of sudden......

Bamn!

Time to update..

Update Now.

Skip and Stay Offline.

Shutdown Xbox...

What about, let me finished my game, save it and come out..

Disgusting and unacceptable.

Xbox Update

I had a similar issue just now. Would be nice to have a choice to update later. Middle of a match and "time to update" nooooo!

Xbox One - Day One Update Failing

When I turn power on I it asks for language then goes to update? My home button does nothing at this time there is no choice to any settings as all I've done is select language and Internet. ??????

Put your console in "instant on" mode & BAM,no updates during games.

I feel you bro, i just posted exactly the same issue in another part of the forum a couple of days ago. We should at least be given 10 mins or so notice that an update is coming so we can at least save our game. When this happens in the middle of a grind
especially, this is so annoying! I just hope you don't get the same idiotic replies to this post as i got, but be prepared lol

@Daft Badger I have my console set to Instant On but got this forced update message too recently while watching TV with the other half. Instant On doesn't always solve the problem.

Never had a forced update in Instant on mode & i'm in the preview program so I get updates quite a lot.

I too use instant on and automatic updates and have never had to deal with an update since day one of setting it up. My xbox is on constantly as tv source an never had an issue.

Well I normally haven't had to either (I'm also a Preview Member) but I have had one recently. Hopefully never have them again as it takes 20 fricking minutes to update!

Not to sound like an ***, but you could've just selected 'skip it and stay offline' finshed what you were doing and then saved the Game

Then afterwards, simply force the Game to update itself, it shouldn't really affect any of the Game's Save Data

No real need to call it 'Disgusting' either, Overracting much?
