Bait and Switch on Xbox Bundle Order

I ordered an Xbox bundle plus two controllers

The three days later the order was charged to my card, then credited back to my card and the order canceled

(after the promotion ended of course)

After spending an hour and a half on the phone over two calls

The first of which ended after several transfers with the girl telling me to call the number I had started the call with

The second ended with the guy telling me the only way to fix it would be to post here on the forums and hope some advocate takes pity on me

... OR ... I could just buy everything from the bundle FULL PRICE

CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH



Are you going to stand by my original valid order or not?

Or just throw your hands up like everyone else I spoke to and say sorry I can't fix that

Bait and Switch

Whoever told you at the time of purchase lied to you. Microsoft publicly announced that the Kinect would not be required to utilize the console a few months before the release of the product, and was very public regarding this if you followed the latest
news. However, they also stated that the way they designed and marketed the console was that "Kinect" is part of the console. There are a lot of reasons for it, but the biggest one would be, making sure that everyone has the capability to utilize Kinect
commands so that developers are a lot more free to include those options in the games they make without alienating the people without "Kinect".

The short version, The console plus the Kinect "is" the Xbox One.

Yep I have to agree with Midnight on this one they said months before release that you didnt even have to hookup the kinect. What they said was the experience was built around Kinect not that it was required. You should be happy they are lowing the price
because lower price means more sales, more sales mean more games. You paid 100 extra but got to play for almost a year more so hey choose your battles.

Thanks for your post. Do you mind clarifying which bundle you attempted to purchase? Unfortunately, although it is rare, issues like this can and do occur on the store. It's hard to determine exactly what has happened in this instance but, there isn't any

I was super reluctant to by a Microsoft product ever again and this underscores that completely

If RDR2 wasn't only available in full 4k on the xbox one x I would NEVER have even considered it

So it looks like small claims court and some free publicity for winning are in my future...
