Bad support from an agent on the phone

You can cut off automatic renewal through the website, yes. But if it's asking for parental permissions the only way to do it will be either through phone support, or chat support. Try chat support if you don't want to wait an hour and "get bad advice".
No advice is bad advice if they're trying to be helpful. If you feel the last agent gave you incorrect advice, then try another agent, if you get the same answer, you know the last one was telling the truth.

If you're looking for a refund you can request by signing in to https://xbox.com/refunds using the account where the game was purchased.

Please note that it may take 24-72 hours for the refund team to get back to your request so please check your spam/junk mail as well from time to time.

Then perhaps an Xbox LIVE agent might find it from the full name, phone number or other information?

Sorry but the Beta forums is the only place you'll find the support agents that are able to remove you and your console from the program if you cannot do so from the app. Phone support is not aware of this.
