    Bad reps,How are they made??

Where do you make a bad reputation on xbox one?? I seem to remember the 360 had a bad rep section, All I see on the Xbox One is REPORT, I think its important that they fix these up a bit, for one its too vague, I don't think someone should be penalized
for Quitting Early OR poor sportsmanship, they should only get a bad rep for "Bad" things like Cheating, Glitching, Profanity & Modding.
Not quitting early or choosing not to wear a mic, or being a good/bad player.

    :)

    How Are They?

IGN gave Epic Mickey 2 a 6.0/10 and their review seems legit this time. Though, I'm still considering buying the game.

I personally think it works just fine. It's one unified system to report any and every kind of bad behavior. For the minor things like quitting early or poor sportsmanship, it affects your rep, and if continued for long enough, you get stuck with other bad
players and have a harder time finding online multiplayer matches as a result. For more serious offenses, you don't have to worry about your rep at all, as things like cheating, glitching, modding, etc. simply leads to an outright suspension or ban. Basically,
    you reap what you sow.

If you'd like more info on how to behave or how not behave on Xbox Live as well as what you can and can't do, you don't have to look any further than Xbox Live's
    Code of Conduct and
    Terms of Use.

And for the record, nothing bad can come from choosing not to wear a mic or from being a good or bad player (skill-wise) - anyone who thinks they can report you for that is fooling themselves.

easy for someone who obviously doesn't play much MP to say, quitting early an bad sportsman ship are two of the same, anyone who has ever been wrongfully jammed up on a bad rep will tell you its not fun, meanwhile it was probably someone who is cheating
    that reported you.

In some ways I agree with fuel. I too get marked down for quitting early and not always sticking to the objective in games aka unsporting, I like to have at least some fun. It doesn't mean I overly become overly impolite to anyone. But M has made the system
in ways which helps it not to be abused by people. What Geek implied elsewhere is if a group of friends file a negative rep against you the system lumps it all into one report not individual reports. I still wish you could give peps good rep. XBL is a positive
experience. If you can only give bad rep not good, it kind of detracts from the positive experience. Say you sometimes want to have some fun in Forza 5 or Horizon 2 and play in a playground playlist like Virus Tag. Some middle aged peps come in and file a
bad rep at you just because you ram them sometimes. You are good at following TOC (you don't hack, cheat, profanity). Well, they're in a playlist where you can expect young people messing around.

This is why I understand many have mixed views about the new rep system on Xbox 1. Especially if you've worked hard and long with your GT if it gets to the point your GT is going to have bad rep for more than a month I see why others may be tempted to create
a new account but you'll have to pay Gold subscription and won't have the friends and stuff from your existing GT at the start of creating a new account.

Sometimes when I choose not to wear a mic on Xbox 360 especially in COD BO2 zombies (and other games) others make a big deal or imply haha we got a mic (or even worse, Kinect and can hear the echoing) and start yapping or playing music. You can mute them
but then they start sending you messages. I doubt it is unheard of, for peps filing bad rep on 360's system just because you don't wear a mic, o hey I'll class that as unsporting. As for complaints yes there are those who do it for anything but you should
have nothing to worry about if you follow the Xbox rules.

I don't think there's any need for a way to mark a player as "good". If you don't leave them rep at all, it's assumed that they're a good player and so if they've received bad rep, their rep will go back up over time as long as they don't continue to receive
    bad reports.

well there is a way to avoid IF the player is too good, that is why Im saying they need to tighten these reasons up a bit, as it quite ridiculous to give a player a bad rep for being too good OR too bad. Hopefully its not the same in xbox one because I do
remember the 360 having all kinds of excuses to avoid someone.

Why can't someone be reported for all the above?

I've never reported anyone so out of curiosity I went to my recently played list and I can report anyone I want for whatever reason I want. I don't like the fact someone isn't wearing a mic I ding them for Voice communication. Bad player/Good Player I ding
them for Unsporting behavior. I could report 90 percent of the people I've played Horizon with over the last two days for cheating....I race clean so if someone else doesn't they must be cheating or at the very least unsporting.

That's the problem I've had with this system all along.....it's all about perspective of the individual and in some cases the person doing the reporting is more of a nuisance to the community than the person being reported.

see your already confusing report with avoid an ITS fine for xbox to lump them all together now but wait until you get a bad rep an cant play with everyone else, lol

For the record Im all for enforcement of cheaters an people who ruin MP by destroying friendly equipment an deliberately smashing into someone..

Randver, as a counter to your response, you're both right and wrong. You're right in the sense that there's nothing stopping someone from reporting you for any reason whatsoever - that's what the comment section is for. However, once an enforcement agent
looks at that comment box, if it says something like "player was too good" or "player wasn't wearing a mic" for example, they'll likely just toss it aside as it's not really relevant. They only deal with more serious issues and investigate those.

If someone is reported for poor sportsmanship, for example, I'd imagine that an enforcement agent may look at the games that individual has recently played and will look for things like cheating, glitching, driving the wrong way, team-killing, etc. and may
go so far as looking at their uploaded clips, messages, and even "playing" a few matches with that person later on to see for themselves for if necessary. As simply as I can put it, if you have not violated the XBL CoC or ToU, then you will be just fine.

Granted, there was an option on the Xbox 360 to leave negative feedback for someone being too good, but the only thing that did was make it so you were less likely to be matched with that person in the future. Such an option doesn't actually exist on the
Xbox One (although you can still "block" an individual if you so choose).

smiles, if people are messing with you because they know you don't have a mic and start to send you negative-minded messages about it, that can be considered harassment and IS a reportable offense.

My advice (that's served me well thus far):

[1] Play nice; get people to laugh instead of making them angry.

[2] Make friends and play with them regularly rather than random strangers.

[3] Don't take the games too seriously (it's supposed to be fun!).

[4] Give credit where it's due (for example, if the other team wins, congratulate them).

[5] Learn from your experiences and losses (to become a better player and have even more fun).

[6] Never lose your cool (doing so makes it harder for you to concentrate, have fun, and starts a downward spiral for you and others you play with as well).

You're making an assumption that I don't believe is the case. MS would need a huge enforcement team to view each case and I don't think they have access to the evidence to make a valid determination of guilt anyway (except in blatant situations).

People playing FIFA are already seeing rep hits (even a thread in this forum about it). Normally two reasons people get reported in sports games....quitting early and winning. I don't see anything in place to protect the people who have done nothing more
than win a game from getting reported and having it impact them.

Make no mistake I'm not defending the people with the deserved red reps. I've been part of the online gaming community since there was an online gaming community. It's full of knuckleheads and nothing will ever protect me from them so I've learned to live
with them. What I don't want to see is them having another means to make peoples lives miserable and that's what I see this rep system having the ability to do.

Just a little over a month until the new CoD release and it's wonderful community will the ability to put the rep system to the test, then we'll see.

  15. Randver, of course the enforcement team isn't big enough - there are MILLIONS of Xbox Live subscribers out there. There aren't MILLIONS of enforcement people. That's why 2 things happen with the enforcement team: [1] they skip over ridiculous claims (like
winning) and [2] it takes time to investigate so many claims, which is probably why you don't often see an enforcement action taken up against someone immediately. It wouldn't honestly surprise me if it took a few days for action to eventually take place.
It also wouldn't surprise me if someone who gets hit with a bad reputation thinks it's from the game they just finished rather than something bad they did a few days ago.

As for particular games giving you bad rep, like CoD and FIFA, that's a no-go too. For example, I have had the pleasure of playing EVERY single CoD game ever, each one for months at a time (I played MW2, MW3, BO, and BO2 easily for an entire year each),
and have NEVER taken a hit to my reputation. Why do you think that is? I do my best to not give people any reason to want to report me. I'm friendly, I'm a team-player, I play to the objective, I don't insult others, I don't try to show off, If I start to
annoy someone I tell them they're more than welcome to mute me, I never quit early, I don't complain when I lose, I don't gloat when I win, I make people laugh, I never cheat or take advantage of the game in some way (like quick-scoping), etc. All you have
to do is make it a positive experience, not just for you, but for everyone.

In fact, that's exactly my ultimate goal when it comes to playing games - to make it a positive experience, not just for me, but for everyone I play with. Granted, even I'm not perfect at doing so, as a few people can attest, but I still try my hardest to
make it a reality. All of you should too.
