Bad News

The point of the poll is lost with respect to the fact that Microsoft are going to have a much larger number of units available for purchase at launch day than Sony, of which they are by large, already sold.

So what people 'prefer' in the poll is moot.

Very true. It's this reason why xbox one can play single player games without internet and there is no wierd DRM scenario for how you can sell your used games.

And it worked for PS fans this time around cause PS+ is an awesome deal (yes, it's a rental, I'd say it's more like having a Netflix like service but for video games, but it is a very good deal) because Sony had to do something to compete with Live Gold.

So if MS is smart (who knows, companies have been known to be stupid and arrogant), this means that xbox fans are going to get some really good promotions cause MS will need to do so to compete and win people back.

And it may not work so well for Sony fans if Sony allows themselves to get arrogant again.
