Bad hard drive

    Bad hard drive


    so I think I have narrow down my problem to the hard drive, I took my whole Xbox 1 of heart and disconnected all drives and it boots up but then shuts down because it doesn't detect a hard drive. As soon as I plug in my hard drive it won't boot up to anything
    I just get a black screen. Is there a way I can replace the hard drive?

    I had a hard drive go bad. I bought a new one is there any way to get the games off the old one without repurchasing them?

    The guy above be is right, and you can actually do this on the website - I remember from when I got my second Xbox after my first one bricked. There's a section in your "My Xbox" that will allow you to send certain downloads to your current box. The only
    catch is for some of the arcade games you'll need to be signed into Xbox Live to use them. Other than that you're money!

    You can access all of your previous purchases by viewing your download history. From there you can just redownload anything that you had purchased with that gamertag. If you used different gamertags to make purchase then you will have to do this for each
    account.

    If both Xbox and Windows cannot detect it, it is indeed faulty. I'm sorry.

    If it's on warranty, Western Digital should cover a new one.

    Hey Lucas. I have the original xbox one. 1540.
    I did try to check the hd on my Windows 10 pc. Apparently windows can't detect it. I filled a warranty request with Western Digital.
