Bad graphics on series s

When I’m playing portal 2 on my series s, it has backwards compatibility, but I looks like the 360, the text looks so pixely and also the gameplay. I played it on a disc version on my original xbox one and it looks exactly the same, how can I fix this?

This is normal if you're playing backwards compatible games on Xbox series S.
Depending on your console and TV resolution the game will look more pixelated due to the resolution that the game handle (usually between 720p and 1080p)

I thought it was playing the Xbox one X enhanced version, which supports 1444p and 4k

you don't on console, it does not magically get better image because you're playing on a newer console, only PC can have better res and image, it would be up to valve to update the game with better textures but as it's a 360 game that will not happen.

same with all 360 games, they will play how they did on the 360.
