    Bad external


    Recently I have noticed games I install to my sea of thieves external hard drive, don't launch or they've had major issues in game like for example. Need for speed heat had horrible render issues, gta v kept crashing to xbox home. Other games just won't open or they take forever to play, or just load forever... When I move the games to my other external or my internal those issues get resolved. What is the issue? And can I fix it myself easily without having to buy a new external

    Bad external

    It seems that the issue is caused by that particular external hard drive since you tried another one with no problems! therefore, you might want to use another one to avoid those issues!

    xbox one turning off in like 10seconds after turning on

    yeah not a newb i did all that. So i reset the xbox by pressing power button,eject button and controller sync button and reset it. it reset it and started working fine, once i plugged external drive in it shut off. Now that i took it out it still turns
    off automatically. I plugged the external drive and the PC isn't recognizing it. Can a bad external drive mess your xbox up? i was gonna try to reset it again and not use external drive this time. I never heard of a bad external drive shutting a device down.
    Could this really be the problem? a bad external drive.

    Thanks. It appears the SSD external drive number 2 was the issue. Maybe!

    That narrows it down to 3 issues.

    Bad USB SSD Docking cable

    XBOX S does not play well with 2 external SSD drives

    Sometimes when a drive starts to fail it will do strange things .

    last one that failed had a bad cable as well as a bad drive. Difficult to troubleshoot eh.

    Are they downloads or saves. If they are on an external drive? Drive may have bad sectors
