    I was testing mass effect on Xbox one my internet had a black out. But when I started the game back on it says I need to be online to run. does this mean i have to be online to play.

    Yup. They even have the GFG program give games that have backword compatibility cross play.

    Backwords compatibility

    Hi I'm unable to purchase backwords compatible games. When I view the price for the game I want to purchase it states pounds (sterling) when I click buy it then switches to dollars and I am unable to purchase it. My account is under the United Kingdom
    but for some reason it still says dollars. Please help.

    No you don't need to be online to play.

    If you are offline the game will ask if you want to sign out and test your connection. Chose No and you'll sign in and play as normal.
