Backwards is right! I do NOT personally care about backwards compatibility and it is a huge waste of microsofts's time and effort to establish this "dead horse" issue. All I can say is let the 360 and it's games die already. "Why in the heck is microsoft
supporting old technology?" When they need to focus on the future of the X1 and hey how about the kinect.

"What about the kinect?" What about more innovative NEW games and IP's that give us a fresh breathe of air?!!"

I mean; do we need a 'gears of war' remake? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Especially when it's only 1 of the games. "How about all three with non-linear *** pop-up hise and seek game play that most HC gamers could care less about.

How about games that are not rehashes, remakes, rejuvenated old warhorses of yesteryear? How difficult is it for devs to sit down and build a new exciting platformer or adventure game that doesn't steal from past created content?

Please NO more....please for mercy sake NOOO MORE; bring out the old data files and reinvent them with shinier graphics!

    UUURRGGGHHH!

    :)

Well it's a pretty huge development comsidering that the 360 had a special place in many people's hearts and ruled the gaming community for quite a while. There was quite a bit of money spent on 360 games and people who want to play them again are going
to be excited. Microsoft isnt making these "future" titles on the x1 but yes they should focus on maximizing the Xbox ones potential.

  5. From a marketing standpoint it was a good thing to bring backwards compatibility to the Xbox One. People don't feel like buying a new console and leaving behind the games they have put so much time in. I know they could keep the old console but a lot of
people don't want extra cables and or electronics laying around the house.

So now with backwards compatibility and the recent Xbox One pricedrop together with trade in deals where you get a discount if you trade your old 360 for an Xbox One, sales go up and fewer people will have a 360. This in turn makes it so MS can focus more
on the Xbox for future releases etc.

Getting backwards compatibility cost a lot of resources but the profits they will get from that outweigh the cost they put into creating it

Backwards compatibility is a great way of ensuring that people who are new as well as people who are avid game players get a chance to experience everything that Microsoft has to offer. There is no reason to cut out an entire generation of games especially
when you have a generation of people who are still in the market for playing them. There is no downside to having back compatibility, you wouldn't buy a phone because it suits every need you have and then get mad because it still manages to have an actual
phone on it. The Xbox first and foremost is a video game console and and should play video games. The overwhelming evidence that supports it is a good thing is the fact that everybody loves to by any HD remake of a game from the past. Why not skip that whole
process and give them the chance to play the games instead of paying 59.99 for simple better graphics.

Overall it's a choice that I believe is great to implement to keep Xbox not only alive but remembered.

  7. I know many will see an argument as valid when they have a so called "a lot of time and energy" into an older investment, but the fact of the matter is that time and money is better spent on newer more efficient, better looking and operating IP's. The 360
had it's time and it was a great(save for hardware issues)a great platform and I was a player too as well; however by holding onto archaic formula's and presentations we are only causing a rift between speedier evolution and allowing the competition the chance
of a even a greater hold on the market share.

i like my xbox one, and i applaud any evolution in visuals, sound, and game play and many titles like destiny, dying light, etc are doing just that. Providing bigger, better and brighter worlds and experiences to go with that. The xbox one was released almost
2 years ago; which means were almost into the 2nd quarter of it's life.....we mustn't impede it's growth by holding onto distractions or barriers that might prevent it from proper growth. I look back on the 360 games and i see a slew of decent games...i wanna
    see better!

" I have with the Xbox one and hope to see more."

Wheel of Fortune Xbox 360 game, want it upwards compatible

While it is true that backwards compat is on hold. Every backwards compat licensing has to approved by the developer for that game to approve the ability of backwards compatibility. There are some developers unfortunately that will not allow there games
    to be backwards compatible .

If it's not backward compatible then it's not backward compatible and never will be as they stopped updating the emulator years ago. The only Robotech game that is backward compatible is Battlecry.
