Backwards compatible game saves

Ok so I have an Xbox 360 and an Xbox one s. I have GTA V for the 360, I'm aware that the game itself it not backwards compatible and I'd need to buy the Xbox one version of the game. What I want to know is if I buy the Xbox one version of the game can I
transfer over my 360 game saves/ progress over. I have a flash drive plugged into my 360 with my game saves on it and an external hard drive plugged into my Xbox one. Can I transfer over my saves or am I going to have to start over?

unfortunately you can't transfer saves for non backward compatible games

360 Saves

With backwards compatible games, you can only save the data to cloud.

Multiplayer progress can be transferred, but not single player.

Here is some general information on backward compatible saves linked below. After doing some research I found that some Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Backward Compatible Games autosave or manually save just like they did on the 360. However I'm not sure if Double
Agent is one of them.

No. Since the game is not backwards compatible it's seen as a different game so it won't see your saves from the 360. Also, the only way to transfer saves from a 360 is through the cloud so in a backwards compatible game it wouldn't recognize saves from
a flash drive.

unfortunately the 360 version is not backwards compatible, and the Xbox one version is a separate game and not compatible with the old saves

You need to save to the cloud on your Xbox 360 to have access to backwards compatible game saves.
