Backwards compatibility

I just have a question about the backwards compatibility update in the fall..I've purchased most of my xbox 360 games digitally off the xbox live marketplace. Will I be able to still play them on the xbox one? Like will I receive a download of some sort
or does it absolutely have to be a disc?

Minecraft game online Xbox ONE & Xbox 360 ?

Because of backward compatibility you will be able to join parties, join games but only the xbox 360 game you have started up.

If you have digital and the game is on the backward compatible list then yes. They also said future games with gold games on 360 will be backward compatible as well. But I see Battlestations wasn't yet. The rumored new 100 list hasn't been leaked yet
or available to test yet either.

Thank you for your question. With regards to the Backwards compatibility feature on the Xbox One. Yes you will be able to play them either if you have a digital game or game disc. Please allow me to reiterate what was mentioned the Xbox Site:

"The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compat game catalog will automatically show up in the
“Ready to Install” section on your Xbox One. For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, simply insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has finished downloading,
you will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play. "

While it is true that backwards compat is on hold. Every backwards compat licensing has to approved by the developer for that game to approve the ability of backwards compatibility. There are some developers unfortunately that will not allow there games
to be backwards compatible .

If it's not backward compatible then it's not backward compatible and never will be as they stopped updating the emulator years ago. The only Robotech game that is backward compatible is Battlecry.
