Backwards compatibility

I'm a bit dissapointed I've never had an invite to the preview program because I've spent a lot of time & money on all things xbox. I know everyone's going crazy for an invite now but if anyone would be kind enough to send me an invite that would be awesome.

 

Patience has never been one of my virtues.

Depending on how well this works it could be the thing to make me buy a One of my own,

 

I'd love to see if this works as well as (or even better than) the original Xbox emulation on the 360 did. I remember some games had weird bugs on them. I guess I'll be looking forward to the holidays unless someone wants to send me an invite.

 

I'm preview how do I do this? I don't see it yet?

 

I do wonder if this is an emulator, are they going to be able to get it working on Windows 10?

Would be a massive coup for Microsoft and would pull PC gamers even closer to the Live eco-system. I could see a few people I know paying the Gold sub for Halo.

 

I am kind of worried we'll have to buy a newer version of Xbox One in order to have the backwards compatible perk. The quote from E3 is as follows:

"Xbox 360 games will be playable on the new console this holiday season"

What is "the new console" ...just a general reference to Xbox One or a newer version of Xbox One?

 

@Vaynel you've got a good point, that would be a big announcment during the (new?) PC focused part of e3 if Windows 10 could do that as well. I'd imagine it wouldn't take much more make work to make it work for Windows 10 and it would really help drive home
the MS saying they are getting behind PC gaming!

Second note I hope the BC expands a lot I have a large back log of games that will probably never be played/finished if I have to hook up my 360 to get to them!

Also hope Halo Reach works with BC then I'll have all the Halo Maps available on XB1 and it'll be awesome!

 

@Doctor Dinner no worries it will be available for preview members starting today so no new hardware needed! By new console I believe he just meant Xbox One.

 

@Vaynel My guess is they probably felt forced because of the 360 emulator that's been dramatically picking up in the past few months. It would be stupid for them to try anyways. Nobody is going to pay $60/y to play games on PC they already tried it with
GFWL and it failed miserably.

 

The thing is you wouldn't be paying that fee to play PC games. You'd be paying it to play Xbox 360 games online.

Yes it's a slight difference but it is an important distinction to make.
