    Backwards compatibility with an online download?


    I want to buy the original Cars video game for my XBOX One to reminisce as my old console doesn't work anymore, but its not directly on the Microsoft store. I can buy an xbox 360 download code on XBOX marketplace, but I wanted to be sure that backwards compatibility will work with a download. Does anyone know how this works?

    Hi

    This is not true the Xbox One can play quite a few Xbox 360 games through backwards compatibility. Please note the console needs to be online to allow it to download the backwards compatible version of the game.

    My xbox1 does not read the Xbox 360 games

    Also when you first put an Xbox 360 disc in an Xbox One that is on the backwards compatible list the console needs to be connected to the internet and online to allow it to download the backwards compatible version of the game to your console from Microsoft.

    Hi, no there is no workaround for this. You have to be online to install a backward compatible game, due to the fact that it is the full backward compatible game that downloads from Xbox Live, not just the patch, this is because the game also includes the
    emulator to be able to play the game on the Xbox One.

    Same problem, Works fine on Xbox one but 360 and backwards compatable does not allow online play. Tried all the "experts" recommendations and now can not even download my profile to the backwards compatable game when it loads, 2 hrs wasted
