Guys I really don't get the whole process behind backwards compatibility nowadays. I see the old Modern Warfare games are basically at the top of the list (I've noticed they have been for a while now) and other big game names I've actually played and or
heard of, yet all I see becoming backwards compatible is junk and games I've never even heard of.

What's the point of voting or using the (now assumed fake) 'user voice' program when this process seems like it doesn't even operate in the way it apparently says it does?

Another concern of mine is, is Microsoft really wasting their time and resources making garbage and unknown games compatible for the Xbox One whilst not bothering with AAA titles and actual games people want?

    :)

Xbox originals games come up with "the game couldn't start. try downloading again"

Some games just had an update that had to be downloaded, but it wasn't a specific backwards compatibility update. At this point, all consoles have the backwards compatibility update like dave said.

    Backwards Compatibility Updates

Backwards compatibility is largely based on the publishers allowing the games to be backwards compatible. So it's not all on Microsoft.

  5. Also to add, it's quite a job to make an Xbox 360 game work on the Xbox One. The games are actually reverse engineered to work on the system. Turning them from 32 bit Power-PC based games into 64 bit X86 software that the Xbox One understands is no simple
task. Then the team have to game test them to see if they are working right and at the correct speed and frame rate.

The reverse engineering is the also the reason why, even if you own the original disc, the game is actually downloaded from Xbox Live. The 'update' is the game.

It's possible that these games may have already been made BC by the team, but they aren't running correctly. We just don't know.

If it's not backward compatible then it's not backward compatible and never will be as they stopped updating the emulator years ago. The only Robotech game that is backward compatible is Battlecry.

That's right, the last update was November 2007 and Robotech: Battlecry was the only one to be included in the BC list.
