Backwards Compatibility Question???

Ok, so as I understand it, there will be intermittent Xbox LIVE updates that will deliver us new downloadable 360 games every month (or quarter, or whatever) and that's where the list comes in: Xbox One Backward Compatibility List | Xbox

My question however is about the disks themselves. It was said during the E3 2015 M$ conference that if you own the physical 360 disc, that it can be played on the X1. So my question is simply a matter of gaining clarity on that statement:

• Will ALL the physical games I currently own for my 360, simply now work on my X1?
  

(OR)

• Will only the games that have been named on the backwards compatibility list work in physical form?

Because of backward compatibility you will be able to join parties, join games but only the xbox 360 game you have started up.

Well that sucks That's pretty much what they did to us when the 360 came out and it was Xbox games that were being made available via the same list & update system.

I was considering selling my 360 if all the games would be available through disk form on my X1, but it would appear as though I'll be holding onto it if only the titles that are listed will work in disk form.

 

From what I understand, the Xbox One isn't really reading game data from the disc. I *think* this is how it works:

1. Insert 360 game disc of game that is confirmed to be compatible.

2. Xbox One reads the title of the game, then queues a free *download* of their compatible version.

3. When you play the game, the Xbox One is reading data from the version downloaded to your hard drive, not from the physical disc.

They are working to add more support for backwards compatibility; the current list is just for testing purposes.
