Backwards Compatibility Problems

So I just bought a refurbished xbox one (model 1540) and I am trying to play some xbox 360 games on it. My xbox keeps saying 'this game isn't playable here. I have checked on xbox.com/backcompat (the site it recommended) and it says that every game i have
tried is playable. I've tried Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Advanced Warfare and Modern Warfare 3. What can I do???

Can they be seen to the far right on your xbox one under games and apps?

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. If you own these games Digitally then you should be able to see them on your Ready to Install list through the console. If these are disc based games then you simply need to insert the disc to begin the installation.

I own the disc versions of all three of these games but when I put them in they still say they're not playable. Could it be that the console needs an update?

It could be possible that you might need an update on the console. You can always attempt to update the console manually, Go ahead and follow the steps on the Following article. "Updating
your Xbox One console"

If this does not resolve the issue then you can always attempt to Reset your Xbox One console to see if we can get this issue resolved. I would go through a "Reset
and keep all games and apps." Just make sure you know your account information so that you are able to add the account back to the Xbox One as it will remove it from the Console.

So i did some work. I tried manually updating the console bet it told me the console was up to date. So I reset the console and its still not recognizing the disc. Right now i am just going to restart the console. I have a friend who every once in a while
needs to just restart it. But after that, i am all out of ideas.

 

After restarting the console it no longer says this game isnt playable here. Now it says please try again, error ox8082000c. Im going to go to error help and try to fix this but at least were were getting somewhere

Thank you for contacting Forum support!

I recommend to test a digital 360 game and see if you are able to launch it without issue.

Once the Digital/disc game is read and on the menu screen of the game, try selecting:

1. start and menu button on the control (two small buttons in the middle of the control)

2. select manage storage or download profile (if your account is not linked)

3. select Profiles

4. click on your profile and delete it from the console

5. attempt to download profile (step 2)

If you are not able to launch the content, please attempt on another console or profile.

(Try to uninstall your account from the Xbox as well)

It appears that we have gotten somewhere!

Our suggestion here, attempt a Soft Factory Reset by selecting the following:

Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files.

This option will do the following:

1. Remove profiles (Keep all information needed for adding any/all accounts back on the console)
2. Redo the network connection, so be sure to have a backup if needed, i.e. Ethernet cord, hotspot connection

Try this step, and let us know if this works.

OMG it works now! After resetting the console for the third time the console started up way differently. Now it's installing my games just like its supposed to be. Thanks for all your help guys! Five stars!
