  1. Backwards Compatibility Issue

I've installed Bioshock on my xbox one using the disc. It told me to download an update, so I did. When I insert the disc, it goes to launch. I get the splash screen -- or whatever it is -- but the game doesn't start, it just goes back to the home screen.

What's the problem? I've restarted the console, hard reset, energy-saving, etc. NAT type is either moderate or open. Nowhere I've gone to seems to have an answer.

    :)

I already checked the game list before I posted this. And how can you tell if your HD was bootlegged or not?

    Hi!

Have you already tried to follow these
    instructions
    ?

Usually, when a game does not start, you can solve it like this:

    - Press and hold the power button for 10 secs, then try again to start the game

    or

    - Delete the profile from the console and re-download it again

  6. I have tried both of those, yes. I also only have the OG one not the S or the X. I've heard conflicting statements about back compat not being available on the reg. Xbox one.

  7. Not yet.

I also live up a mountain, and the weather's been pretty bad, which slows down my internet. Does anyone know if that could be the problem?

    Backwards Compatibility Issue

    Hey Xbox Gamer,

Sorry to hear about Bioshock not working for you, I personally prefer Infinite, but I am biased towards the color scheme. I can assure you, backwards compatibility is available across all 3 versions of our Xbox One console, so no worries there. As far as
your connection being an issue, it could be but I wish to try a bit more troubleshooting on the console. I encourage you to try a Soft
    Factory Reset
    by doing the following:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console.
Make sure to select the option to "Keep Games and Apps" so you won't have to download everything again. Let us know if this helps! Backwards Compatibility Issue :)

(Make sure you know the email and password to your account as this will remove it from the console)

Yes, in some regions some backward-compatible games do not work with an Xbox OC. Try to change the console region in "Language & Loation" section and try again.

  10. This seems to have solved it. Either that or a combination of everything else. Thanks.

  11. Did you remove your profile and then put it back again to see if it fixes?!?

  12. Thanks everyone for the ideas. I got it working again. After resetting my entire profile, I reinstalled it. Worked fine.

Yes it is still backwards compatible. You can the list of backwards compatible games here.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. Have you had any issues with other backwards compatible games before?

trying to play "Project Gotham Racing" version 2 on an xbox 360s console;- help needed!

Are you able to test any other backwards compatible games?

Generally issues with backwards compatible games on the 360 is down to the hard drive. A lot of third party purchases of hard drives tend to result in the hard drive being a knock off which will not work with backwards compatibility.
