Backwards compatibility game disks won't load

I am having a big problem at the moment playing any backwards comp game on disk. I was playing gears of war other night and next day won't work I put disk in xbox one and if I click game tile, gears screen comes up then goes off and get message asking
if I own game or so. My digital games are playing fine tho. I had a problem over weekend with it and followed help on here and cleaned my xbox 360 storage from xbox one settings and got it working but back to square one again. I even installed Kane and
Lynch 2 yesterday to see if that would work but after it installed getting same

hi,

I'm relatively dumb when it comes to gaming and I (well my son) needs help.

We have an XBox 1. I have a copy of "Call of Duty: Black Ops" which I used to play on my old XBox 360.

We have tried to load this game, following the instructions, but we keep getting an error advising it can't be loaded and refers us to the backward compatibility support page.

This game is listed for backward compatibility, and according to the instructions it should be a matter of simply putting the disc in for it to load.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Is there disc scratched at all?

 

I also am unable to play ANY backwards Comp' discs on my XboxOne. The discs are in perfect working order and still play on the 360.

Digital licences are no problem.

Can this please be recognised as a valid issue as it appears to be affecting a small but consistent number of consumers.

 

No none of the discs are damaged at all and work in the 360. I own a lot of discs that are backwards comp and unplayable meaning only way is to pay for digital licences for games I already own. Not happy at all its problem after problem with xbox been with
xbox for years but I am seriously considering going to PS4 as this is unbelievable

 

Hey, guys! It sounds like you may need to do a
factory reset to see if that fixes your games. I suggest following the steps on that article to reset your console. Let us know if that works for you!

Thanks for replying. It's only backwards compatible disks I am having problems with xbox one games work fine and the disks work fine in 360 only in xbox one they don't they work to install but then don't play they were working fine one night next morning
problem started.

I'm having the same issue as the OP. Case #: [mod removed]. I rec'd my brand new copy of L4D2 earlier this week, loaded it fine, played it fine. Yesterday, it wouldn't run at all. I tried my GoW3 disc, which I have played dozens of times,
solo and multiplayer. Won't load either. My xbox one disc of Witcher 3 works fine. Neverwinter works fine. My digital version of Enhanced GoW1 works fine. Dvd player works fine.

I read the troubleshooting guide, however it doesn't really apply to this situation: my password works fine, I don't use external storage, and I shouldn't need a digital license since the 2 xbox 360 games I own, I own the discs for. Plus, they were both
working just fine a week ago. I've had 2 chat sessions with online help staff (thank you to them both). I've uninstalled both 360 games. I've removed my profile and re-installed it twice. I've done the factory reset (saving apps and games), I've created
a 2nd profile and tried to install the discs/games under the 2nd profile. Nothing is working.

Is it safe to say it's NOT a hardware issue if I can run xbox one discs and DVDs?
