Digital vs. Disc Version of Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare on XBONE

I'm attempting to install Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare (XB360) with a disc but it's generating errors, even before trying to install. I found out it's not on the backward compatibility list, even though a digital version of the game is on the XBONE
Store — Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare kaufen – Microsoft Store de-DE.
I have XB Live Gold, so that's not an issue. I rebooted the console twice but no cigar.

Am I missing something here? In this case, does backward compatibility only pertain to physical disc versions?

I have though about that 2. But as far as that goes, they will probally have something in place for that, maybe you will install them as two separate games, though I don't know how it will work, but they are probally working on it.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't relly matter if the game is on 2 or 1 disc. Why? couz game isn't installing from the disc actually. The only thing you do by putting the disc into the driver, you trigger download for Bacward Compatible version of that game, and
the disc is only needed to prove you own the game.

I can be wrong, but if i'm sure something like that was explained by MS.

  7. I really wonder how it works as well. I imagine you would install every disc just so that it works, but I may be wrong on that.

That business about 1-disc vs 2-disc games is nothing but overblown rumors. The truth is, a digital version of any game is a single file that you download. In any set like this the "play" disc (usually disc 1) is all that's needed to initiate the game.
Think of it this way: all the data from a two-disc game gets installed to your drive, but you only put the play disc it to fire it up, correct? Same thing with digital. If they decide to make any of these BC, then you'll have no issues.

Now, as far as two disc GOTY editions, that's a different story. For those, I expect you'll still have to purchase any extra DLC (for example, Fallout 3 with five sets of DLC). Unless of course they get VERY generous and make it all available, but I have
my doubts, since verification of ownership is difficult in this case.

  9. Not rumours because 360 games like ME3 can be started with either of the discs, both are the play disc.

Each 360 game on One is wrapped in the emulator, both run at same time. Shut down game and you shut down emulator.

Microsoft have to work out how to keep emulator running when there is no game in it.
