Backwards Compatibility - Disappointed so far.

    Hello all,

So, here we are at the end of february and the backwards compatible titles are still or nearly the same since november (I can't figure out if some were added later), when the project launched. Microsoft and the Xbox team promised hundreds of titles being made
available for Xbox One users, with new additions being made on a monthly basis.

It still says in the "Backwards Compatibility" section that new additions to arrive in the coming months. Well, that's a blatant lie so far, one that I'm utterly disappointed with.

The promise of backwards compatibility was a prominent factor in my choice between PS4 and X1 so it's just natural that I feel like being fooled and lied to. As a customer, I demand more thorough updates on this project and some release dates as well. This
clouded "hundreds of games coming in the next months" bs just won't do, especially as nothing seems to happen.

And it's not like I'd like to play some obscure old games, it's the likes of Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption, Elder Scrolls that interest me most. Games which I was surprised at not being included in the first -and only- batch.

Don't ask me for patience, I've been patient for months now and frankly, I had enough.

Thanks for the answer in advance.

    :)

  3. Disappointed backward compatibility

Hi, as much as Microsoft would love to put Kinect games on the backward comaptibility, it's just not possible due to the Xbox One Kinect using different technology that is not compatible with Xbox 360 Kinect games. As for other games like the Lego series
of games, some of them are compatible (Star Wars TCS, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman, Indiana Jones). If you would like more of these games to be made compatible, then vote for them on the xbox feedback site
xbox.uservoice.com the more votes they get, the more chance they are made compatible. Be aware though that it is the decision of the publisher to allow the games to be made compatible.

    First read the faq

You have to receive that Ms can't flip any switch

    They must ask the publishers

And no the list has actually been added monthly

Every games with gold has been added not to mentioned misc titles every month

3Rd what you don't realize is in the the faq

    There can be various reasons

Lack of licensing agreements, publisher doesn't want to cannibalize future sales of hd updates

Or they no longer have the license for music or content in the game

4th even then after getting permission ms has to write the patch

ms continues to add to the service every month your best bet contact your developers

More complex games willing take longer to patch

Patience is a virtue and not toention it is impossible to get what you are looking for

Patches not only takes time but ms is the only ones writing the patch

And by the laws of the land they must have permission first

I'd have imagined it's not as easy as a flick of a switch, I've got some experience in this kind of business.

The thing is, MS made a promise which most likely attracted hundreds of customers, so they have to live up to that. It's not my problem if they can't make a deal with the publishers, it's their job to tie up as many deals as possible. And it's not like a
huge concern for publishers to allow these games on X1. I mean we've already bought them and if I so wished, I could still play them on an X360, it's not gonna affect the sales of new releases.

Fair enough, they've added some titles since the launch (as I've said, I'm not sure about that), I'm sorry about that, but still, the titles brought in are kinda lacklustre if you ask me. Of course that's just my opinion but the list is definitely lacking
    in real heavyweights.

    Thanks for the response anyway!

Massive problems with the backward compatible

If it is not in the backward compatibility list then it is not supported. Sorry if that is a disappointment to you.
