    Backwards Compatibility and ethernet/wifi issues


    So this is a new occurrence. When launching a backwards compatible game on my Xbox One X while WIRED I cannot access anything related to the internet (profile and save data management from 360 guide, in game dlc menus, leaderboards etc.) With each game
    and function within the game giving a unique error message. The odd thing is this is all fixed when going WIRELESS on the same network. Previously I never had a problem with my 360 games, and my network is borderline perfect, so the cause is lost to me

    Hi, a couple of question:

    Are you using wifi or an ethernet connection?

    Xbox 360 console or Xbox One using backwards compatibility?

    Internal HDD or an external HDD?

    If your on WiFi switch to ethernet to do the update then go back to wifi. I had wifi issues until I did the update.

    are you only disconnected from the party or live etc too have you noticed?

    Are you using a wifi or ethernet cable connection?

    If wifi then I suggest trying ethernet, if the issue goes there maybe issue with the wifi on either your modem/provider side or the wifi in the xbox itself. Can my minimal dip in service but enough to drop the chat/party.

    Yes it is still backwards compatible. You can the list of backwards compatible games here.

    I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. Have you had any issues with other backwards compatible games before?

    Gears of war 2 freezing when launched

    This was actually a problem with Gears of war 2 the game itself, not a backwards compatibility issue. It seems your online data gets corrupted and has to be reset.

    One thing it fails to mention in the fix is you need to unplug your Ethernet cable from your xbox360 before performing the steps. I have no idea how to fix this using backwards compatibility on the xbox one.
