Backwards Compatability

We, the people need the following:

Def Jam Fight for New York

Red Dead Revolver

Marvel Origins

Virtual Pool Championship Edition

Marvel vs Capcom 2

Soul Calibur IV with guest characters

for the Xbox One. I personally think everything in your 360 library should automatically transfer over.

So backwards compatability is a big issue when from what we know the PS4 "backwards compatability" is just the ability to buy the games in a digital format that will work on the new console, hmm.

 

If only it were that simple, but alas it is not. Before a game is made backward compatible, Microsoft have to go into negotiations with the developer/publisher to ask if the game can be released to the Xbox One back compat catalogue, then they have to renew
any licenses that the games have. These include music, cars, superheroes (DC & Marvel), etc, etc. If just one of these licenses is not renewed or permission is not given, then the game is not made backward compatible.

 

Great list and ideas. I really miss some of the old sports games. Those Marvel vs Capcom were great games too!

It would be great but it's not, If It were lile backwards compatibility on PS2 It would be awesome, You would only need to have the game of PS1 and put the Disc on PS2 that You could play, but It's not what happens to Xbox One or Xbox 360.

 

Not only do publishers have to be approached and the game/s approved, the next step is to 'repackage' the game to the format supported by Xbox One. This is a long process.

This why even when you insert BC disc there is a large update. This 'update' is actually the repackaged game.

Once a game has been made BC it has to be fully tested.

 

I have a feeling that eventually, all of Xbox 360 games will be backwards compatible.

 

There are a lot of Xbox and Xbox 360 games I hope to see added to Xbox One Backward Compatibility in the future (hopefully with all their respective DLC intact). I know some of them are most likely a shot in the dark, but games I'd love to see added
