Backwards compatability is a joke

I bought my new Xbox one S console from Smyth Toys and was told it has backward compatability for Xbox 360 games. What a load of rubbish. My son has 12 games: Lego Dimensions, Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7, Lego Star Wars III, Lego Jurassic World, Lego
Bathman 3, Lego Marvel Avengers, Lego Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Tiger Woods Golf, Minecraft Storymode, Minecraft and Lego Dimensions and non of them have backward compatability!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous especially Lego Dimensions which is only 12 months old and cost me £45.

This is not on Microsoft you are trying to rip us all off buy making us buy new xbox one versions!

These are really popular games for kids to you need to sort this out.

Xbox One, destined for failure

So backwards compatability is a big issue when from what we know the PS4 "backwards compatability" is just the ability to buy the games in a digital format that will work on the new console, hmm.

 

Backwards compatibility is a farce and a lie

You do NOT have to repurchase any of these titles my friend. Not all titles have been re-released yet for backwards compatability. There are currently 104 titles available. Once a game has been released for backwards compatability, it will show up in your
library to download FOR FREE. Microsoft will update thethe backwards compatability library regularly.

The issue here is that you did not do proper research before making poor decisions.

 

No one is ripping anyone off.

Whoever told you all 360 games work on a xbox one was wrong.

Only some xbox 360 games are backwards compatible & it's mainly down to a games developer/publisher whether they make their games backwards compatible or not.

5 minutes research would of told you this.

The xbox one couldn't play any 360 games for about the first year or so & it took a huge effort to get it to play xbox 360 games.It even plays a few original xbox games now.

If all you want to do is play xbox 360 games then you may as well get rid of the xbox one & buy a xbox 360.

 

Just a quick question, "Did Microsoft force you into buying a new Xbox One?"

I don`t think so, just unfortunate that sales assistants in Smyths don`t have a clue about anything they sell.

(The same can actually be said about a lot of high street retailers)

That`s the whole point of the hallowed pages of these forums, to ask questions and seek out answers, to boldly go where an Xbox owner has not gone before.
