Backwards Compatability Games

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you already owned an Xbox360 game when you download it on your Xbox One it's supposed to be free and if you didn't own you can purchase it at a discount.

Everytime I try to download an xbox360 game I previously owned it keeps telling me I have pay for it, and all my Xbox360 games that I owned are listed on my Xbox.com games owned list.

So backwards compatability is a big issue when from what we know the PS4 "backwards compatability" is just the ability to buy the games in a digital format that will work on the new console, hmm.

Hi, you are right for some of what you said. Yes you should be able to download the games if they are backward compatible, these will be shown in the ready to install list in my games and apps, this refers to digital copies only. Any disc copies, you have
to have the disc to insert, and then download the update to the game. You have to keep the disc in the drive to play the game. As for a discount to purchase the game, no that is not true, unless the game is available in the deals with gold or a sale is on.

While it is true that backwards compat is on hold. Every backwards compat licensing has to approved by the developer for that game to approve the ability of backwards compatibility. There are some developers unfortunately that will not allow there games
to be backwards compatible .

There is no way to request a game to be compatible. The backwards compatibility program ended in 2021, so anything that is not compatible, won't be.
